Omise only had an income of one million last year...

Staking pools. This is how ETH will work too, but it hasn't been revealed yet.

where did you get those stats of 1 million in income?

Out of his ass.

ETH validator nodes are only 1,000 ETH and 10 once sharding is released.

Fucking OMG is a bunch of greedy monkeys. 200 nodes/37,000 OMG is utterly fucking ridiculous

I'm pretty sure they set it this low in order to not complicate things at the start.
I would assume it would be significantly higher later on.

whens later on? I bough 11,000 of this shit and Im still considered a speck based on their top .01% model?

I could have fucking invested in anything else gotten better returns than this dog shit for the past 8 months and not be left hanging because I only have 30% the neccessary amount to stake despite being in the top 500

I don't know what "later on" would be. I would guess it would happen in the first few months after initial release of the Plasma staking. Once they see everything runs silky smooth with that amount of stakeholders.

I've got 2,000 of these myself. It's pretty clear i'll end up in a pool like everyone else.
Besides, to stake you'll have to have a good stable internet connection 24/7. You'll have to run it on a dedicated server. It could be a little bit of a hassle/inconvenience for a lot of people.
It's not enough to just be holding some tokens in an offline wallet.

It makes no sense to me that people get all up in arms about staking vs pooling.

The OMG pool will likely have 0% fees, or SOME pool will. This is actually a GOOD thing. You don't have to worry about the physical activity of staking

So what the fuck are you complaining about

>> No.8744366

only brainlets, autists or people trying to short OMG are complaining. Anyone with half a brain that read the blog post or watched Townhall 0x2 is excited. NOCOINERS btfo

>> No.8744611

why did they make 140m omisego tokens if only 200 people are gonna stake?

>> No.8744837

>>8743919
how does staking in a pool work? do i have to send my tokens somewhere?

>> No.8744928

>There is a 200 validator maximum
>oops, I'm not a whale, so I can't make it
>there are probably 100+ pools you can join
>they each provide nearly-guaranteed placement in OMG staking
>they also validate your activity for you
>they also charge a fee, anywhere from ZERO to [low number] percent of your rewards
>you send your tokens to them attached to a smart contract
>the smart contract says "we will take possession of your tokens for the staking period, and we will add your token balance to the pot. we will perform all required validator responsibilities to the best of our ability. at the conclusion of the staking period, we will return your full token balance in addition to [99%+] of the staking rewards you are proportionally entitled to based on our luck in the leadership elections
>you get your tokens and 99%+, probably 100%, of your rewards and you literally don't have to do anything and as long as you choose a top-10 pool you'll never have to worry about getting kicked.
and people find a reason to complain about it.

In the last Town Hall they said they are thinking around 200-300 omg to stake, but this might change.
