I'm about to graduate in the fall in accounting. It's an extremely thirsty field for new employees. They are having a very hard time finding young people who will learn it. One of the few internship fields that pay as well. Getting a degree in accounting at this point in time is pretty much guaranteed employment.

Take the lower division accounting classes and decide then. I can tell you now that accounting isn’t for everyone, and the pay right out of college and even mid-career isn’t stellar. Having the degree and a CPA is solid though so consider getting it and going into consulting. My 2 cents.

It is a great career with lots of opportunity if you don't mind feeling like you want to drive a pencil through your eye socket.

Don't be a faggot. Study engineering, then move on to finance or just start an engineering company and become a millionaire through that

Auditor here. Its not bad but not great either. If i had to start over I'd choose something else like medicine or law.

The pay is shit compared to the work you put in. Public accounting is filled with a bunch of old as fuck partners that are greedy beyond belief. They hammer you to pass the CPA exam and only pay you a few extra peanuts when you pass. You work long hours during tax season and you have to travel during audit season.

If you end up choosing accounting definitely pick up a minor in computer science and learn how to code. This professional is going to get hit be a tidal wave when blockchain hits the mainstream in 10-15 years.

Good thing I've accumulated a bunch of REQ.
