I don't know that feel, but I can imagine it must be a terrible feel to be forced out of your home territory due to gentrification

>> No.861615

>>861614
Gentrification is a double edged sword. Without it major American cities would pretty much be unlivable. And of course the other side is that poorfags get btfo. For legit working class, safe blue collar neighborhoods it sucks. But most poor neighborhoods in big american cities are shit filled with crime and drugs.

>But most poor neighborhoods in big american cities are shit filled with crime and drugs.

Which then spill out into the suburbs and working class areas.

>> No.861618

>>861617
Not saying your wrong but can you provide good examples of this? I lived in Hyde Park which is a neighborhood in South Chicago (the most violent place in the U.S.) and all the shit from Englewood rarely spilled into the area. During large college parties some niggers would casually show up and try to steal some random shit but nothing too major.

I'm not getting forced out of my home or due to gentrification. Heck the house sold looked much worse than related pic.
If it was the U.S it might be easier to relocate thanks to high population, urbanization etc
The thing is that my country has only a couple of cities and all heavily overpriced. The cheapest house I could get in my city is 500k which is rare to find.

Do you live in Australia
If so, ouch good luck fag. That said I'm sure once commodity prices hit rock bottom there will be a mass exodus from Australia and housing will get cheaper.

Sydney? Melbourne?

I know that feel. The house next to my parents' place in one of the eastern suburbs of Melbourne just sold for 2.5 mill, and it's a smaller block than theirs.

I'm going to be renting forever in this city. It's even worse in Sydney. The median house price is almost 800k or something ridiculous.

>> No.861676

>>861626
The median house price in any decent part of Sydney is 1 million. I'm currently looking for a one bed apartment that isn't studio. They're all 400-500k.

AHAHAHAHA. I'm american, that's why I'm laughing. You know what this is? The topping of a real estate bubble, I already went through this shit in the US. One day you're all going to wake up and the home prices will start to drop but the realtors and brokers will keep pushing sales(they've all gotten spectacularly wealthy through fees) and they'll even tell sellers "well the new house hasn't sold in 3 months but our research says you can raise the price 10%". Australia is nearing the end of it's amazing bubble pushed higher by chinese looking for dual citizenship, negative gearing and lending practices that'd make american bankers cheer for moar.

If there's going to be a massive downturn in stock prices there's a pretty good chance housing bubbles in places like Australia and Canada will pop too. House prices did temporarily fall in Oz during the GFC, and that was with the China commodity bubble still going strong. This time it'll be a lot worse and the property speculators are going to get fucked in the ass.

My parents' neighbours just sold their house for 2 million to ching chongs.

Good thing rent is disproportionately cheap since you can't invest in that, so I'll just save until the big crash comes.

>> No.861729

>>861728

when and why do you think a big crash is coming?

>> No.861741

>>861729
A big crash is always coming, no market is stable.

The key is to save and wait until the drop and get in at the bottom.

70k into a deposit myself. Waiting for it all to come tumbling down

>> No.861752

>>861697
And you don't think the Australian posters on biz aren't waiting for that crash? We're the disillusioned bunch that can't afford a place. We're also the ones not dumb enough to jump into a mortgage at this time. Please, fucking pop, so I can snatch up a place to live in.

I'm tired of hearing from everyone that it's only going up. They keep saying "Well, it's been going up for 25 years." And when I tell them that's precisely the problem they laugh at me like I'm crazy.

I'll bet you can rent that same house out for a few thousand, so if you want to live in that home, you win.

Property bubbles are signaled by prices falling out of step with rents.
