Why does LTC exist? I can't find a single good argument for it on r/litecoin. It was a copy paste of the BTC code base, which isn't a bad thing on itself, it's not proprietary, but why did it turn into a legitimate coin? It brings nothing to the table, it only has free publicity because of Charlie Lee's position in Coinbase and because it's promoted as a "legit alt" by Blockstream to fight alts which pose real threat.

To cash in on bitcoin's popularity.

The only reason why its still relevant is because its just a faster bitcoin and a little less popular. Not even the fastest alt coin by a long run.
Itll die off in the long term imo.

cuz you could have bought it at $3 a year ago and got rich thats why

It's only still relevant because it's one of the most popular cryptos to exchange between wallets. It's fast and low fee, and for a while it was the best to use. Also because LTC manages to beat BTC to the punch every single time when it comes to upgrades. SegWit threw BTC into mass confusion, yet it was pretty seamless for LTC to integrate. Likewise the entire team is very agile and has a clear direction of where they're headed, meanwhile BTC is a clusterfuck of epic proportions. It's also baby's first crypto a lot of time, the feeling of owning "1 whole" coin is more satisfying to some people than buying a fraction of Bitcoin.

Why does silver have speculative value when you have gold?

But the only reason it mooned in the first place was because of Charlie pushing for small blocks on BTC to cripple it and manipulating the market using his position in Coinbase.

Because silver is also used for decoration but almost not for industry and is also (almost) noble metal.

And litecoin is also used as a testbed for BTC and as an alternate blockchain to use

Because some fat chink thought Core would succeed in completely corrupting BTC. He knew what core's intentions were from day 1 and was in on it, so he made a coin to solve a problem that shouldn't exist.

Little did he know that the crypto gods hate fat chinks, especially ones with a fucking bowl cut.

Little did he know that a golden age is upon us where Christian white males will finish what Hitler started.
