This is all news driven reaction, not losses from bank failure or any of the conditions that led to the top 10 crashes in the history of the market, amplified by the automated trades the big houses are doing, which double or triple down on mini-crashes like this.

We'd need weeks of 10% or more drops in the market to even begin to approach the levels of '27 and '08.

And, the market traditionally has done well with higher rates. The drop last week was over "Muh trade war!" and Facebook. It's investing, not all market moves are based on people being rational. And, it's not an indicator of the overall health of the economy. Even the experts can exactly link the stock market crash in '27 to the Great Depression, because there were so many things influencing that, like the drought in the midwest, massive farm foreclosures, etc.

The market is gonna crash from time to time. If you're an IRA long term hodler, don't look at your balance for a while - but over time, this is a blip. Day traders and short term investors got fucked last week, but it WILL recover. How high? Who the fuck knows. But the moon that the market took after Trump got elected is clearly over, the market was overvalued, so from one perspective, this is healthy for the market.
