Okay /biz/, this is my first time here and I am only 18 so please spare me any ridicule. I have a fairly simple yet ambiguous question.

I am going into my freshman year of college and i am currently a marketing major. As far as majors go, what should I be looking into if I wanted to learn about investment opportunitys and the stock market? I know this sounds very stupid but I really just want to know how to be smart with my money and learn how to rake in as much income as I possibly can. Honestly I know nothing about these subjects but I want to learn. Any advice?

Finance would be your best bet.

The business I'll be attending soon also has a stock market club so that's where I'll try learning about stocks.

I had planned on minoring in finance or double majoring. What about an Econ degree?

Taking a double major will obviously make you a ton more valuable. Get an economics degree only if you are going to double major though. My friend majored in economics with no minor and he has a shit job right now.

Get a second opinion because some people say that an economics degree is useless
