What's a good part-time retail job for a student? I'm coming up on a year at Target and can't keep up with the hours anymore.

"cant keep up with the hours"? kill yourself...

But you're in school. Work somewhere related to your degree. What is your degree?

Try a headshop, or as more blatantly known in 21c, a smoke shop.

Usually pays very well, your customers are most likely guaranteed to be laughably stuck up or laughably retarded sans the nonchalant normie.

IT
There aren't really any retail electronics places in the area and all of the actual IT jobs are full time.

We only have vape shops in my town (lmao). Closest actual headshop is half an hour away. Any other ideas?

Does your college not suggest anything? Internships?

I'm kind in between schools right now, so all of that is mostly unknown me. I'm only here until spring semester and need a new shitty job until then.

If they are working you more than 24 hours you are supposed to be considered full-time and get medical benefits. So if they are doing that, reminding them that you'd like to convert to full-time status and get a pay/benefit bump will probably get them to reduce your hours.

If they are working you less than that then sack up.

Right above that, but that's like, the opposite of what I need. I'm taking sixteen class hours, so I can't afford them the liberty to schedule me more than I'm already being scheduled.

Oh my god you are thick.

> Go into manager's office.
> 'Hey [manager's name], I appreciate you giving me all these hours but I can't handle more than 24 hours a week as I'm attending college full-time.'
> Manager: if you can't handle it we'll fire you.
> You: I'd like to remind you that you are supposed to be paying me full-time benefits if you schedule me more than 24 hours a week. Also, I'm recording this conversation.

But seriously, I doubt the manager is going to be so petty as to fire you for asking for reduced hours. There's someone else on the payroll that would be glad to get a small bump in pay.

I posted this in another thread... but

Look for warehouses that have weekend shifts.

I work at one of these. I work 2, 10 hour days a week @ 14.25/hr in the mid west. It's pretty awesome for students. The only drawback is that there is really no "break" ever unless school is out.

Found a beer distribution plant ten minutes from my apartment. Hella pay and consistent scheduling. Applying this afternoon. Thank you, anon.

One retail job is as shitty as the next. Look for an internship or something degree-related that might actually go somewhere.

I've looked but can't really find any near me using indeed or Craig's list, what's the best way to find them

Drive around. They're big warehouses, usually zoned onto one part of the town. These places usually don't advertise for jobs -- unless they're an Amazon.com warehouse. For instance, there's a McLane facility near me. They don't advertise for jobs, but the one I found said they were always taking applications. They didn't have the hours I wanted, and I didn't have the experience they wanted though.

Don't get me wrong, finding a weekend shift at a warehouse is probably not common. But it doesn't hurt to walk in, ask for their HR number, and call them about employment opportunities.

I just started college and got hired at sears appliances commission. I make realistically about 600$ a week
