Do you know how much money $400m is? You could spend fucking $4m a year, or roughly $10k/day, and still stretch it 100 years. Everything but the ultimate bullshit absurd penthouses costs likes than $10k a day, and even very nice whores aren't more than a couple thousand.

Yes, you're looking at more like $300m after tax even with the annualized rather than lump payment, but still.

instant win games tend to be won by MIT grads or math profs that can estimate how often they must force a winner to create fair odds

general lotteries, true

but a lot of people play at $20M.

at $300M+ you beat the 175M to one odds in theory... and worst case scenario you fund education/seniors in your state

a lot of people will play the lottery for the reason of wanting to get rich as well as subsidizing good things if you don't

which is something a lot of the snobs ignore

most people know they're on the side of getting fucked for life by playing the lottery

they're playing for a goddamn shot

A lot of the point of the lottery isn't the fact you could win; It's just the fun of the draw and the thrill you get.

I massively covet a brand new Volvo S80 T6.

Everyone goes for Mercedes-Benz. Frankly, it gets boring after a while. I'd rather have something nobody else is driving. Not to mention the superior seats and superior I6 engine. V6? I4? Who wants that shit? It's what you get in a Camry.

I would pay off my parents mortgage. Buy my sister a home, pay off my other sister's mortgage. Set up trusts for my nephews/nieces. Hook all of my cousins up with enough to pay their college expenses. I would donate massive amounts to churches, help pay down people's medical bills that are struggling. Basically hook everyone up as much as possible and do my best to make their dreams come true.

I would buy a few acres of land and set up a luxury home, complete with a barn for raising cattle and fields for fruits and veggies. Set up my own little town of sorts. Build some other homes on the property and let my workers live there for free.

I would invest in space exploration technology, companies that produce foods and other needed real goods. I would invest HEAVILY in the medical and biotechnology space in companies that might seem overly ambitious to other VC's.

I guess I would do my best to provide value to the world with it.

228,000,000 Total
--- Venture 1
100,000,000 invested into buying foreclosed/undervalued land and real estate. This sum focused into a lucrative area should net a goodly market share and the trust I form with the local real estate agencies should inflate prices to very profitable levels.
Note: All income from this venture will be used for this venture alone to grow.
---
118 mil remaining
--- Venture 2
18 mil set aside for personal expenses for the rest of my life and for two generations of my descendants.
---
100 mil remaining
--- Venture 3
Invest 25 mil in the stock market. Wait until the height of recessions and buy buy buy. After artificial recovery occurs due to stimulus spending by the government dump all assets.
---
75 mil remaining
--- Venture 4
25 mil spent to create a natural resources business in Africa. This sum includes expenses for buying the land, hiring staff (security, technicians, management), and capital such as machinery. A majority of the profits from this business (which will be entirely corrupted to extract maximum value at the cost of the land and those who live on it) will be used to expand the business, and the rest will be used to create a personal stockpile of every material we're collecting.
---
50 mil remaining
--- Venture 5
50 mil spent buying and developing land bought in venture #1. From research facilities to factories, anything that isn't housing will be built and either kept to further other ventures or sold at prices that will net acceptable profit.

I play the lottery here in Canada quite often even though I know I will never win. It's more for the feeling of what if. I like to day dream about winning.

As for the Powerball, shit, over 200 million, that's a lot. I would put 150 in investments, buy huge pieces of land that aren't very desirable now but are relatively close to some city where in the future they could potentially be a suburb(fuckton money for the next generation). From the remaining 70 or so million, I'd give away like 20m to my parents, 10m to my aunt/cousins, another 10 to other relatives and some family friends. With the rest I would pack a backpack and travel the world for 10 years. After getting bored of that I would probably just do some angel investing for the fun of it. Get a masters degree, just fuck around fulfilling all my dreams pretty much.
