The thing about individual stocks is that you really have to have you finger on the pulse of your industry if you want your revenue based on price increase. If you are a dividend junkie, the entry point shouldn't be that big a deal because you won't be selling unless the business is folding.

How much did u invest in?
Hopefully not much if u don't know how to pick stocks, when u are more experienced u should invest more money and don't be scared when it drops 5% a day, this is just short term effect if u picked a good stock.

A few tips for u
Buy low > Sell High
Buy high> Sell Higher

Believe in your picks, don't listen to fcking anyone ells (For this educate yourselves)

Never buy stocks u don't understand

Good luck

Another option is
Go sell all stocks and suck dicks

Stocks aren't sports teams, and you aren't a cheerleader. Stock picking is a failed strategy no matter how hard you "believe" in your picks.

And for everyone else too. There's no evidence that smarts, experience, resources, or effort has any positive impact on your investment returns.

I know that's counter-intuitive, and most of you won't grasp the concept. But its the truth, no matter how strongly you deny it.

Typical retard. What makes you think that you can beat the market, faggot? What special information do you have that the market has not yet reacted to? What special insight? None.

You're the kind of retard that many algorithms in Wall St are making out of.

Also, your broker sells your buy/sell information to HFT and they turn around and buy/sell before you do so that you have to buy/sell at a higher/lower price than you should theoretically have to.

As a private investor, if you are playing with stocks it's because you have been duped by those seeking to make money out of your ignorance.

Your description is a little off, but you are correct that paid order flow is one of Wall Street's dirtiest little secrets.

>Is it ever too early to invest in index funds, or is it better to invest as early as possible?
Earlier is always better than later, but yes there is such thing as "too early."

1. Investing before you've established an adequate emergency fund.

2. Investing money that you're going to need in the next 2-10 years.

3. Investing before you have a reliable, periodic wage or salary.

a index fund doesn't use "smarts, experience, resources" so nice contradiction there. The whole point of a index fund it just a passive tracker on the index you pick...

Please explain how it's a contradiction. Because its pretty much the exact opposite.

Warren Buffett doesn't pick stocks. BRK an investment company that focuses on capital acquisitions and strategic combinations, neither of which is possible for an actively managed fund. While BRK does also engage in some traditional investment activity, its a tiny portion of their revenues. Take a look at the their most recent 10-K and see how small Investment Gains are compared to their other income sources.

Depends what you mean by "market." But no, most retail orders don't get filled internally because if they did the brokerages wouldn't get paid for the order flow.

I'm not saying that internalization doesn't happen, but your assumption that all trades are subject to internal execution if possible is simply false. Best execution rules would prevent this, among other things.

As early as possible. Just start very small and increase your injections as you earn more money.

Waiting to create emergency funds, bigger salaries and money "might" need is too long and not necessary.

You make 5000 a month, take 500 and put it into an index fund every month simple. Do everything else with the remaining 4500
