I want to run a chainlink node for passive income...
I have almost 70k link tokens and see the potential in this project.

Any of you anons tried to run a node yet? What's the payout like?

Is it worth it?

Also, I don't really have a good computer anymore. My ex-gf broke my gaming computer to bits and pieces. Does having a powerful computer give an advantage to this??

You want to run the node on AWS (not on your own pc)
Also you cant stake links - its yet to be revealed/implemented. You might be able to run node without any staking (on testing purpose) but i dont know how and if you are going to benefit from it. You might want to check reddit linktrader for more info.

No. No one will pay a shiton of money for api calls. Centralized oracles such as from MS are the future.

I'll just copypasta it..

Hi, I'm very interested in the cryptographic project chainlink. I must admit, I am not a computer programmer nor have I ever learned anything outside of handling a windows xp/8/vista etc...I tried ubuntu once and I was getting the hang of it.

Therefore, naturally, I think I am tech savvy if I try to learn.

I'm 25, student, and very interested in trying to set up a node for some passive income. I have roughly 70k link tokens and want to utilize them to their full potential. So I'm just going to go ahead and ask some basic noob questions in hopes of getting some enlightenment on the subject.

#1 I know there are some minimal requirements for a PC to become an exit node for this project. However, due to my crazy ex-gf drunkard bitch, my gaming computer is now broken into bits and pieces. All I have is a windows HP with like 16 GB of ram and a basic i7 processor.

However, if getting a faster, more efficient computer will optimize my payout for being a node, I will spend up to 2,000 USD.

Question #2 How safe is this? I mean, could my computer crash and meltdown, and I end up losing all my links? (I have no clue how it works, so I'm just thinking of a pessimistic worst case scenario I guess.)

#3 What is the payout rate? And what am I doing essentially? Is it the same as siacoin? Where I am just hosting some random encrypted data on my computer??? Eah, yeah. I'm a nooblet.

Thank you guys. Hope to here some answers soon!!!
