Ripple made an unprecedented money from selling the xrp token, how is it possible there are no competitors?
And what will happen to xrp if another company makes a payment solution of its own? Since issuing a digital coin like xrp costs pennies doesn't it mean it'll have serious rivals threatening to take its place?

That's the redpill XRP holders are afraid to swallow. The token has no inherit use or value. Companies will develop their own in-house ledger or copy Ripple's ledger and simply issue their own currency. XRP holders are crazy if they believe companies or banks willingly accept the usage of a token that's 100% pre-minted by a private entity. That same entity still owns 60% of the total supply to this day.

Ripple was shilled in the most explosive, professional, all encompassing marketing campaign crypto has ever seen. Old people I met had heard of ripple. Some lady at the haircut place. Even heard it from some girls at a pizza parlor.
