eBay sellers/eCommerce guys/etc

How long did it take for your business to take off?
What did you do to drive sales?

I haven't spammed social media yet and need to look into fb ads. surely this will all pay off right?

I made 150 pounds worth of eBay sales today, from which 130 is pure profit.
I'll usually sell 50-100 worth in a day, if I have enough stock that is.
Did absolutely fuck all to advertise or drive sales, just slapped on nice pictures, a good thorough description and made sure the product was niche enough.

I know this probably isn't impressive to most people on this board, but being a student and having this kind of income on the side apart from my regular part-time job really helps.

Sorry man, you have to find the niche yourself.

Unless it's your own website you really don't need to handle any advertising. Hell that's why I'm cool with paying up to 15% in fees because I'm being exposed to huge markets with minimal work on my end.
Ebay explains what sort of things increase sales rankings (1 day handling time, 14 day returns, free shipping, etc.)
As long as you ship out on time and acquire good feedback you'll find your rankings improve and you'll also get more discounts for shipping or fees.

Ebay even advertises on Facebook and other websites to recapture potentially lost sales. They do a lot of work for you and honestly I think you get a pretty good deal of it. If fees ended up being in the 20-30% range I'd start bitching but for now I'm all right with things. I'd prefer 10% or less but the usual ~13% is all right.

well some credibility would help because while I believe that making a side income with eBay is possible, but if 130 of your 150 pounds in sales is profit, then thats some incredible margins that I've never heard of before.

I've already got my niche, dude. I sell Transformers, comics, video games & consoles, various action figures, kickstarter sets, and a host of assorted garbage.

I was just curious.
