You don't have to pay taxes, if you don't cash out.

I'm curious about this. Sites like Microsoft & i'm sure many others accept Bitcoin for payment. So what if you just buy products with your coins & don't ever cash out?

BTW - didn't put money in either - but have made $2000 bitcoins by mining.

amerifag here. so if I invested $2k in november, have $15k now, do I have to report tax if I didn't cash anything out? Or should I just wait and report when I cash out?

Buy your bitcoin with cash in person. Don't buy from exchanges.

That would be the best option. Your money is untraceable that way.

You only have to pay taxes when you cash out, specifically capital gains tax. Just try to keep track of your trades, so that the IRS doesn't try to declare a tax jihad and audit you. I know if I worked at the IRS I would audit the shit out of anyone who had anything to do with crypto.

how legal is it to sell currency as an individual in large amounts?
would this be money laundering?

does this fall under "money transmitter" regulation?

what's with this "pay taxes on every trade" meme then? Do you pay taxes on every trade after you cash out?
