Show up to the actual place of employment. Get a phone number. Call them in a week if they don’t call you, and if they ignore, walk into the business and find someone willing to explain where you stand with the company.

Stop wasting time on those sites, they're a scam.

Call every employment agency in your area, and apply. Yes, temp agencies. EVERYONE uses them now, to pre-screen applicants. Even Google uses them for entry level shit. The more office skills you have, the better - Office, email, etc. A basic degree is good. Take anything they offer you. They'll throw shit jobs at you, to see what you're all about - they have enough flakes coming through who get sent out on jobs and disapear at lunch. Prove you can show up on time, and get work done. Do this for a while, they'll start sending you out on the temp-perm gigs, the better ones. If a good one offers you a job, take it.
Everyone I know who didn't get recruited from college went this route did well for themselves. You have to eat a little shit occasionally, but you'll do that anyway.

Also, there are agencies for non-office work, too.

Let someone else do the applying for you. Hell, some of the agencies even offer 401ks and health insurance.

why would a company want someone who is just interested in themselves?
theyre looking for someone who can help them do xyz
think about what you can actually do ( work hard, friend with customers etc ) and sell them on how they will benefit from having you around
thats it
because they want to benefit from having you around
even if its to mop floors
they still want someone who wants to mop their floor
they will happily pay someone for work

What would make you a good fit for the company? Learn about company values and spit them back at the HM. Burger King is easy for this, they have tons of videos about the company culture and are kind of notorious for it.
For example you wouldn’t go to, say, JP Morgan and say you like to party and chillax. You wouldn’t go to Google and say you want to stiffen up the rules. “Used to talking to people” who isn’t? It’s rather vague and doesn’t tell the HM much about your fit.

For the initial hiring process, yeah, lay off teh drinking, smoking and drugs. The test for tobacco now, often. Once you're in the system, you can indulge. I know people who have actual jobs who have to drug test more than temp workers do.
If you cant go clean for a couple weeks to get a job, then you shouldn't be working anyway.
And you don't need a suit for temp work. Just get a clean polo and khakis that fit, decent shoes (no sneakers or boots), socks, and be clean and presentable for the initial interview. Most of the time they'll tell you what the dress code is, most offices are 'office casual" now, the only offices that require shirt and tie are legal offices. The companies I've worked for, it was office casual the whole way for temps, and we hired a lot of them. The one I work at now, half the marketing management started as marketing temps.

In my experience, hiring staff who ask "What would make you a good fit" is the kind of bullshit question they ask, when they don't know what to ask so they use a bullshit question like that. Just shine them on - "I'm interested in this industry and want to learn about it as much as I can". Pretty simple. If they're asking questions like that, they just need a warm body, honestly. You just need to stand out from the pack - good personality, good hygeine, doesn't look like you'll cause drama, etc. They know it's an unfair question, that everyone lies and bullshits, it's a formality, a hoop to jump through, where what really counts is your ability to show that you'll just show up on time, do the work with minimal supervision, and not cause problems.

>It’s twice as hard to forget someone you had an actual face-to-face conversation with.

Sorry, that's just bullshit though.

Almost ALL employers purely advertise online. Most via job agencies. NONE that I know of will hire walk-ins, you just look like a desperate retard if you do that.

OP, reality: You're a piece of meat. You're ONLY function for employers is to make them money in whatever role they had in mind.

Learn how resume filtering works, and rewrite it to evade the filters. Spam it out to places that are advertising - they get hundreds to thousands of applications, so I really can't emphasise spamming it enough.

And don't see you "want experience". Nobody wants to train you. Lie. There's services online where they'll provide verbal references of a price, so you can have your former "manager" talk you up.

Or, man up and become self employed, which is the only long-term option that's viable.

This x1000. the VAST majority of jobs are about who you know. I only start looking outside my circles if I really can't find ANYONE that's worth the hassle to train.

Protip
Companies only post jobs externally because:
1. Human resources/unions force them to interview a minimum number of candidates before hiring anyone. They already have a candidate in mind. You have to completely blow them out of the water for them to consider you, as in, they have to like you as a person more than their chosen candidate and consider your credentials to be uncontroversially better than their chosen candidate's.
2. Similar to (1.), if they want to hire temporary foreign workers, they have to turn away a minimum number of candidates before they can declare on their paperwork that there are no suitable candidates in their region who are also citizens.
3. It's a last ditch effort and they're desperate, the first person who has a passable resume will be hired—but that's not you, that was the guy was both literate and who saw the posting within two hours of it going up.

Ever wonder why your interviewer seems to know nothing about your application? It's almost as if he never read the thing, nor bothered to skim it before the interview? They seem disinterested even before meeting you, less interested to shake hands, and barely acknowledge you've gone? They already hired somebody else. They're ticking boxes on a flowchart so HR/the government doesn't get mad at them. They never had any intention of hiring you.

Take a deep breath and answer one simple question honestly: were you the bottom of the barrel in school? If so, continue with your applications or try getting some craftsman apprenticeship. If not, you should stop wasting time and go to college. If you can’t afford a university, go to a community college. If you can’t even afford that, join the armed forces and have them pay for it once you are done. When in college, intern. This will get you an actual career as opposed to a dead end job. You are wasting the little precious time you have at the applying for shit jobs no qualifications required jobs at the age of 18.

To OP and anyone in this thread, consider working at an Amazon warehouse if you have one near you, they have literally zero prerequisites for applying and are constantly throwing people at the jobs due to high turnover rate, but the pay isn't terrible and the jobs themselves are pretty easy, although you will be on your feet all day. I'm sure it's the same for other warehouses but Amazon is a really good bet my dudes. But yeah fuck this job market either way

I did inventory management and quality control for a couple years, it sounds fancy but it's just as entry-level as the grunt work. Half the shit is automated in most facilities so you basically just stand in one spot for 12 hours and have the items come to you, the either stock them, unload, them, or do what I did and count them to make sure the quantity matches what the computer says. There's also "water spiders" and those are the people that bring or take items on rolling shelves to the people to stock them or unload them. It's all pretty easy stuff. Plus if you work for a straight year they give you an option to get paid a couple grand in order to promise you'll never work at an amazon facility ever again, which is a pretty ballsy way to thin out the herd imo. Guess what I did

>> No.7917537

Feels good living in Norway, whites here go on gibmedats welfare instead of physical work so I'm actually a chief technician now making 25eur an hour without any qualification, well my qualification is that I'm one of the 3 white guys here.

>> No.7917569

>>7917537
Actually I'd assume that they would, given that everything is recorded and every aspect of the job has some sort of automated process behind it, even the paid time off and vto system. If you want to try that be my guest, though. Also there are a couple other sections of the facility that do work that I didn't list, like unloading the items off the trucks that bring them in and the people that package items for shipment, but since I didn't work there I'm less familiar with those

Started making decent money by 22 and now at 24 I make about 90k a year.

I had a friend who was trying to get a job after getting his MBA and he couldn't get shit so he decided to troll all those companies by sending in an application from "Jack Package" that had graduated from Harvard, had accolades out the ass, and experience with like every top firm you can name. Sprint has a deal for a free year of service if you Port in from another carrier and have a phone that's in their list. If you're on a Sprint mvno (company that uses Sprint antennas like Ting, boost Mobile etc.) You'll have to have Port out (if you want to keep ur number) then try the deal read the thread it may be a little complicated.

Had it since August I think and overall satisfied (fucking free service, can't complain only pay taxes) gonna get one of my brothers to do it when my year runs out for another year since they extended entry time. Save yourselves some money anons and put those saved $60 into ur preferred coins
