I started mid-December with ETFs to get some growth and divedends which worked pretty well until the drop end of January. After that I changed tactics and tried day trading, which was fine for a little while until I had the brilliant idea to buy FTR yesterday, which didn't work out very well.

Value investing and dividend seeking are not necessarily the same things
For example, you have stocks like BGFV or ORC who give you very high dividend yields. But they are very risky as the company ofen pays them with debts. Some buy them hoping the stock value won't drop too much after the dividends are paid.

Meme investing : in fact, this provide you with some unusual ideas and potential huge gains. Take AMRS : I am liking this company more and more.

It is all about percentages.
It should maintain the same percentage over time.

For example, you have 5 positions each worth 2000$.
Imagine position A grew to 3000$.

First, you can withdraw 1000$ and get yourself a hooker.

Or, you can redo the math and distribute the gains among the other positions.
In this case, your portfolio is worth 11000$. So, 11000/5 = 2200$ for each position. So sell 800$ or stock A and buy 200$ worth of stocks for the 4 other positions.

You only need to do this once or twice per year.

I imagine when senate passes second reading on the legalization bill on March 22 that'll energize things a bit. The good news is that most stocks in the sector are near or at oversold levels and the days on 10%+ rapid drops are apparently over. Bottom more or less reached.

Last week, it emerged that an anonymous whistle-blower had alleged to the SEC and CFTC that “rampant manipulation” of the VIX is costing investors hundred of millions of dollars a month. Cboe, the Chicago-based exchange that controls the VIX, said the report’s conclusions lacked credibility and were “replete with inaccurate statements, misconceptions and factual errors.”

The whistle-blower’s claims, made through a Washington lawyer, follow a May report by a University of Texas professor and a Ph.D. student that asserted the process through which VIX futures are settled is subject to rigging.

Chris Concannon, Cboe’s president and chief operating officer, said Feb. 7 that he expected regulators to review some products that track VIX derivatives. Watchdogs would probably examine what information was disclosed to investors, with a particular focus on retail traders, he said on a call with analysts.

Cboe spokeswoman Hannah Randall declined to comment.

Hmm... i'm thinking about doing something risky with my weed stocks. Lately i have noticed large cap Aphria as bad or worse than my small caps. The whole point if holding Aphria for me is a hedge against the supposed greater volatility of the small caps. The small caps of course have a lot more potential to 2x+ than Aphria does so... dump Aphria, buy a fuck ton more shares in one or two of my small cap positions?

Welp. APH and ACB have completed a triple bottom this month. Both a had small rallies off the low in the final 15 minutes of trading. Whole sector SHOULD have a decent bounce on Monday. If it doesn't then all my TA and market analysis is wrong.

I don't know. I opted to hold APH until midday Monday and reassess. No point in holding a large cap that moves like a tortoise if it has the same risk and less upside of my smaller cap holdings.
