Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Interactive Brokers
>$1 commission per 100 shares. $10k minimum to open, $3k if 25 or under. Lowest margin interest. Free API access

I don't think anyone seriously believes the US will default, it's just that people know that the stronger the economy gets, the more rates are likely to rise, so debt will begin to compete more with equity. The stock market has been propped by by low interest rates and quantitative easing.

It's good though, finally stops the constant all time highs and actually gives people an opportunity to enter.

It also thrashes the fuck out of passive funds, which, despite my longside bias on the Dow, I love knowing is happening.

that sounds like bullshit.
That's right for forex, where you have no edge against the banks.
but in the stock market you can just buy and hold randomly and make ok, if you're not just doing penny stocks

No. You call up CEOs and ELT staff claiming to be an analyst from the "4Business SMG" hedge fund and chat him up. If the CEO seems to know his stuff, you buy. If he seems like an idiot, you short. In the ideal case, the CEO slips up and gives away material nonpublic information and you trade on that.

>> No.7882131

>he think Robinhood is free
>doesn't know about slippage

lmao but anyway, I switched to a cash account to avoid the PDT rule and it's the best thing I've done. Granted, there's a T-2 for cash settling but doesn't matter if you've got enough money or spreading it out.

You can probably dupe a few CEOs from smallish firms like this.
Or even better, register an account on a community based website, where anyone can write "reviews". Then you are basically a legitimate analyst for ???.com.
