Off a cliff edition

Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Interactive Brokers
>$1 commission per 100 shares. $10k minimum to open, $3k if 25 or under. Lowest margin interest. Free API access

TD Ameritade
>$6.95 commission per trade. No minimum to open. Fantastic data/charting through their free ThinkorSwim service

If you want to in to Canadian weed, now is as good a time as you're likely to get. The sector is in bear mode and prices are relatively low in comparison to their all time highs. Safest large cap remains Canopy Growth (WEED). Most undervalued large cap is Aphria (APH) but it tends to move slowly and never seems to pump as hard as WEED does. And the most traded large cap by share volume is Aurora Cannabis (ACB); however, Aurora also has the most share dilution and is arguably the most overvalued company in the sector relative to their assets and production capacity.

If you're open to higher risk, there are a number of promising small caps; MARI, THCX, FIRE, HIKU, N, TGIF (US exposure) and FFT (US exposure).

so how does buying and Selling Call/Puts work?

Buy Call means you can buy a stock at a lower price then the market value? lower price being the strike price of the option when you took the contract.

Buy Put means you can sell a stock at a price higher then market value? the higher price being the strike price of the option

you don't ever have to actually buy the the stock in the buy calls but you do have to pay the premium to have the opion

I already know STM has very good optical sensors, which means they will be a good place to ride the autonomous car meme.

So STM dedicated a large chunk of their capacity to make more imagers for Apple... Do you know if the margin on these products is higher or lower than the discontinued products ?

The risks here would be a higher reliance on a single customer. And given the trend of iPhone sales (market saturation, the next customers will be very price sensitive like and I am thinking of the curry niggers), I would say it is a risky bet.

Outsourcing R&D ? Do you know how they will be doing it ? Create a spin-off company ?sell the intangible to a 3rd party company ? etc

I am a pussyass fag. I would diversify.

The info on SM are interesting to know. So potentially, a better gross margin in the future. But I can't see the impact on R&D apart from the subsidy (which will probably come with many many strings attached, like hiring niggers)

>I moved to the Netherlands and I can't trade on the US markets (using Lynx), finding it difficult to find Euro stock resources.
what markets can you trade on?
I'm in Germany, and I can access NYSE and NASDAQ through my broker (though at insane fees…). However, I never needed too, since almost everything is available through Frankfurt or XETRA and even on low cost(ish) Tradegate Exchange. And if that does not work, I can access all the other German exchanges (Stuttgart, Berlin and so on…) which sometimes have some specialications for quite OK fees.

I don't know nor like the euro market in overall.

But I recently thought of Xylam as an interesting idea to investigate.

A microelectronics fab requires regularity to avoid machines (some of the in the dozens of millions) to deviate from optimal and screw the chips. If you do R&D inhouse, you can't avoid having to process things differently, therefore screwing your reliability for your standard processes. A company like Intel does very few process R&D inhouse and therefore has a state-of-the-art reliability in its fabs.

Interesting

I didn't know inhouse R&D would impact production. I wonder why though. You can have the R&D in a part of the fabs and the production in another, can't you ?

>> No.7872088

>>7871950
Well, you could, but that would mean buying all the machines again (IBM strategy), and that's quite a lot. RTOs on the other hand are used to do R1D, don't look for perfect process reliability and therefore can go a little wilder with their equipments but still can do most of the processes in-house.

Ok

If I understood correctly, STM changed their R&D processes. It wouldn''t necessarily mean less expenses but very probably higher margin for their products.

For long term (like, really long, not just not daytrading), I'd either get some solid blue-chips that don't have a dispruption waiting for them (i.e. probably not walmart or car companies) and pay solid dividents, or I'd just get into a mix of ETFs for that diversification. Some S&P, MSCI world and emerging markets and maybe a country or two of your choice (i.e. believe in the Germans, get some DAX ETF)

Any memes for defense and such, besides Cyberdyne?
I wanna ad some military stuff long term, but all the US based ETFs for the sector are not available in Europe, so I'm thinking about picking one or two companies.
How about adding space as a bonus?
So that would leave Boeing, Lockeed martin and Northrop grumman. Which of those should I pick?
Boeing has a lot of civilian stuff, which the other two don't have, plus it's space arm is not really profitable.
Northrop snatched Orbital ATK and is quite profitable, so that seems nice.
And I don't know shit about Lockheed.
Gimme some Meme-opionions to include in my DD.
