Poor Uni student here, I am able to comfortably invest around 2k USD.

In your opinion, is that enough to swing trade properly, or should I build a more substantial roll trading with leverage first?

with so low amount u have to go all in on an ico and just hodl . dont swing trade unless u expert which i suppose ur not since u asking here

Sell at 2% profit. Slow steady gain>big risky

>> No.7786462

practice paper trading for a few years and even then controlling your emotions with real money on the line takes a very long time to master (let alone acquiring the technical knowledge. Hodl is a meme but trading is not as people here make it out to be, and when they say you're an idiot to just hold remember they're counting on inexperienced people to make money off of. Your best bet is to dyor and find a smaller marketcap coin and go all in and forget about it. Wait for a correction and don't buy after something does x times like 78% of /nubiz/ did in december and is now holding very heavy bags. Or just buy ether.

Thanks for the response, I am currently studying a Master of Finance, so I hopefully should have the technical knowledge within a few years.

Cheers mate, realistically I have a solid 50 years of trading ahead of me, so you're probably right about playing it safe.

Don't listen to /biz/ and buy risky altcoins or try day-trading just put it into something actually good and keep accumulating

whenever it reaches 2% profit. You just hold until it hits 2% then you look for another trade. You cant trade too fast now because you have low captial. Go slow now and you will save alot of time in the long run.

well, you can turn 2k into 4k if you this consistently for 36 days, lmao

You realize how often you'd have to do that for it to be worth it? Each trade resets long term capital gains and you'll get taxed to hell. Trading is only worth it if you can make a ton otherwise hold for a year for the long-term rate.

Australian Tax laws are a lot more relaxed. I applied for Social Security today, and besides Stocks and Cash, they didn't ask about any other holdings (crypto etc.)
