Sup /biz/,

I'm currently living in Holland and I've decided that I want to get out of here. I hate everything from the mediocre culture to the crippling taxes. Heck I want to shoot a rifle at least once before I die.

I'm 21 years old and I will be done with my cs degree within the next year or 2. What would be the fastest way for me to get a green card?

I just got mine last year via marriage. If it wasn't for that, it would have been a 7-year wait

>> No.770413

There are 3 ways for a foreigner to gain a permanent citizenship.

1. Marry a US citizen.
2. Get employed by a US company, and have them sponsor a green card for you.
3. Win the Green Card lottery.

Since no one's being completely serious about this..

APPLY FOR A STUDENT VISA FIRST!
Apply at some United States universities/colleges, alongside with a student visa. You'll at least be living here until you finish Uni.

Afterwards, before the school year even begins on your last year, apply for a work visa in the US. Do this by looking for jobs in the area you're attending, and they have to be career specific so moving to a much much larger city would help. It takes a bit to be accepted, but they can't deport you until after you've been either denied or accepted.

At least that's my idea.

Otherwise, you have to marry a US citizen, live in the country for (5?) years before applying for an actual citizenship. Oh, and another thing, you'll never get into the US by normal means of a green card... not for a long time.

>> No.770810

why not move to a place like switzerland? it¿ll be easier than going to the US

>> No.770811

>>770808
immigrating to the us is hard. marriage is easiest. you're first world so you won't be scrutinized as much for your marriage visa. spics, Asians and other poorfag countries get the third degree. my wife is Australian and she had to fly to Sydney for an interview that lasted five minutes and was conducted in a group.

being first world is actually a disadvantage because companies will be loathe to do extra work to hire you if they have to pay white person wages. those visas go to very skilled people and Indian visa slaves

alternatives are to just overstay a tourist visa or go to Canada.

So I have to continue my study in the US then? Isn't that really expensive without some scholarship?

Isn't applying for a work visa part of the normal means of getting a green card?

Its beyond me why a dutch national would want to emigrate to US, sure there is alot of crap in holland like immigrants from 3rd world shitholes but apart from that (and the taxes) its a pretty good place to live, US these days is shit its full of mexicans, chinese and blacks, expect to be a minority and discriminated because you are white (I am assuming you are white)

What about taxes? 52% Income tax, 21% Value Added Tax, 40% Gift tax, 50% Excise Tax (gasoline, cigarettes etc)

And our wages are a lot lower too. A "good" job here is considered 50k a year.

It is legal in Washington (I live in Seattle) I would marry you if there were something in it for me, because I am a gold digging bastard.

>> No.772405

My boyfriend looked into it (from UK) and it's nearly impossible. Your best bet is to get an internship in the US right before you're set to graduate and hope that the company sponsors your visa and that you luck out in the visa lottery. It's somewhat hard to get an internship without connections here (either through your university or friends in the US) because companies would much rather hire a native who they won't later have to sponsor. The only reason he got his position is because one of my family friends put in a good word and he had great grades/prior experience. The lottery is also a crapshoot. He and I will probably end up getting married after his internship because we don't want to risk it.

>>772401

You will need to visit each other at least once to establish some proof of relationship and the paperwork is a bitch.

>> No.772415

Okay. Here's the deal. It's really hard to immigrate to the US.

Yes, marriage is the easiest way. It's pretty self explanatory.

The employment way:
Go to the US on a Student Visa. It's necessary to start living here and be in a good position for future employment. Finish your degree here.

When coming to the end of your degree apply for OPT - Optional Practical Training. 12 months work authorization extendable another 17 months because you are in STEM. This is the time to get a job that will sponsor an H1B temporary work visa. I think STEM is exempt from the yearly cap so as long as you find an employer you're good.

Now you only have a stepping stone. With just a bachelor's degree you are looking at an EB-3 category. As I'm writing this post I checked the backlog of EB3 visas. TO MY SUPRISE I found that they are processing January 2015 applications now. This is great news. Just few years ago backlog on EB3 ROW (Rest of world, other than China, India etc.) was 3-5 years.

To apply for EB3 green card you need a labor PERM certification from Dept of Labor. Your employer needs to get this, proving that there is not enough skilled workers etc. This can take up to a year.

The process is difficult but not impossible.

I'll be browsing for few hours. Hit me up with any questions.

No citizenship is 10-15 years, I think. Again, think long, long term. I've been here 10 years and just got a green card last year.

Also, stay away from nursing. The whole "shortage" is just a myth, much like the airline pilot shortage.

http://thehealthcareblog.com/blog/2013/01/15/the-nursing-shortage-myth/

As for "getting cucked", I think you watch too much pr0n.
