Qualifications - None, maths helps. So does coding. But not essential. Also a LOT depends on the type of firm.
You gotta be smart and have real passion about the markets. And it has be be REAL PASSION. Like you would make love to, marry, and visit mother in law of trading.

Track record also helps (shows passion)

Mostly irrelevant. EDU is how you become a wage pleb mostly. Just marketing from unis with ever increasing tuition that convinces so many that they need this $100k+ piece of paper to do anything in life.

I have an MS in Comp Sci and work on a Software Development Team with some people with no more than a High School Education. They make similar money because, market. Meanwhile, I've spent the past 3 years playing catch up financially - by paying off my massive student loans.

Math undergrad is not enough. No degree is enough. It's whether or not you actually use that knowledge along with drive to get in a place where you can make that much money. You can do it with an English degree or a GED too.

Salaries in Austria are generally lower than those in US. But it's hard to compare, because of health care, pension, cost of living, etc

The average income in Austria is about 35k€. So based on his figures (40k at the age of 22yrs) he earns the norm for entry level jobs after university here.

What i experienced is that cost of living in vienna is significantly lower than to a comparable city in the US.
