BTC's end game is to slowly transition from BTC to BTC 2.0 which will be PoS, without hard-forking, ever (that way Blockstream will have full control), such that the only thing that will remain the same is the ledger - users'll get their old coins just like in a fork except BTC will not have to fork. That's fucking brilliant on BS's side.
