Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Interactive Brokers

Morning! I had a dream that the deep state was going to attack Trump where he's strongest and that's the economy. The FED is going to raise rates every chance they get this year, this means we're going to see 10-yr treasury bonds pass that 3.5% level at some point. With all the boomers' 401k's holding the majority of the equities these fund managers are going to switch from equities into the bonds to protect these retirement accounts. This could cascade into equities taking some serious hits this year. Set some tight stop limits, long volatility every FED meeting. I'm not sure when we're going to see new all time high 27K dow jones industrial. Might have to really start looking at trading vehicles like energy and or metals.

And a question for the non-fulltime traders:
does it actually help your returns if you can spend more time researching/buying/selling stuff, or does it hurt your bottom line?
I'm mostly a long term investor, that's just occasionally hopping on some trends but mostly not really caring for his portfolio, but currently I am on a very long sick leave, so I'm laying and sitting at home with way too much time on my hands, but not really a motivation to get some "real work" done, and I think my investing starts to get emotional.

There are companies with great numbers that are going down.
There are companies with shit numbers that are exploding.
But eventually the numbers have to match the price. but that can be several years after hype (or anti hype) dies down.

that's why the stock market is so great. all the great performers are ticking time bombs, just waiting to drop 7% in a day and wipe out 3 months of profits.

Researching a company means knowing and understanding their business and how they do it.

Next, you try to forecast and imagine what their business will be like in the next few years and if theu have the potential to improve it (CEO's personality, financial health etc)

Once you have a number in your mind, you compate it to the one of the market : is it being too optimistic ? too pessimistic ? Am I wrong in my forecast ? am I right ? etc

My most recent example is TTWO. They have been on a tear since July 2017 and have calmed down since their last earning report.

To justify their current market cap, I find they have to achieve +20% revenue growth while maintaining margins for the next 5 years... am I right ? if true, is it sustainable ? am I wrong ? what am I missing ? etc

I know a lot of people don't think so, but crypto and traditional equity markets are actually correlated. Notice how both Bitcoin and the S&P 500 rallied and crashed at around the same time. You basically extract a lithium-rich salty brine from underground and then flood huge areas with the toxic sludge / liquid and let it evaporate for a couple of years then you scrape all the dried shit up with loaders and put them through some more purification processes until you can finally dissolve the shit into water again and use electrolysis to extract lithium ions. If you don't do it in a very arid area then you run the risk of rainfall washing contaminants away and getting into streams, rivers, lakes, etc. You also run the risk of polluting the underground water table as nasty shit leeches back into the ground.

I used the Favor app (basically something like Uber eats where you order stuff through the app and a driver goes to the store / restaurant to buy it and delivers it to wherever you are) and had a driver cancel a delivery order and put in a request for another driver to complete it because the place I ordered food from didn't accept EBT cards... She was literally using her EBT card to buy fast food and groceries for other people and then getting reimbursed with money deposited directly into her bank account via the app for the money spent on the food plus delivery fees. I was pretty pissed off.

Well, most of the workers come from bumfuck nowhere in China
They are way better off in Foxconn dormitories and near big tier-1 cities than in their shitty villages
Besides, if a place is hell, it is mainly because of the people living in them. I don't dare to imagine what already soulless, uneducated, dog and snake eating chinks do at night in their quarters.

Good anon, good. Find a way to be okay with it and profit. But don't lie to yourself, these people are in a prison. Their living costs are deducted from their pay, what's left of their pay typically goes back to their family living in bumfuck no where and women who don't abort their fetuses are routinely kicked out on the street with nothing left when it's done. Are you better off just because you have AC and an actual bed? Me I'd rather work in my families rice fields than do that, poor and free and all.

Yeah exactly. If you want people on welfare to suffer just give them less. If you're annoyed they're buying fast food, don't let ebt be used there. But for the love of humanity, let them go shopping and pick their own meals like a free person should. Don't force them to eat government slop.

>>7621606
I don't need to justify anything. It's the Chinese government who worked so hard to make it so attractive and cheap for Apple to build factories there. It's the Chinese government who devalied their currency to bring in manufacturers from all over the world. This is the future their government chose.

You're not understanding how the job market works.
Those people don't have the capital to start their own business, even if they have the intellect. Their choices are to work a job or steal. If there aren't enough jobs to go around, as is currently the case in the US, it's just a question of whom they rip off. I'd rather they rip off the government than try to mug me on the street. I'd have to pay to feed their ass in prison anyway.
When inflation kicks back in gear, great, decrease welfare benefits and force people back into the factories. But there's no sense in forcing them to go somewhere that doesn't exist right now.

P/E ratio is a very basic starting point for fundamental analysis. If you don't have infinite amounts of time to do stock research, I would use it as a filter to weed out the stocks I have no interest in. That being said P/E ratio doesn't mean a company is good. For example compare AOBC and RGR, AOBC has a better P/E ratio but they also have a questionable policy of making a shit ton of acquisitions and don't pay dividends. RGR pays a dividend and grows business organically. So you can't say just based off the P/E ratio that AOBC is actually a better value than RGR.
