Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Interactive Brokers
>$1 commission per 100 shares. $10k minimum to open, $3k if 25 or under. Lowest margin interest. Free API access

TD Ameritade
>$6.95 commission per trade. No minimum to open. Fantastic data/charting through their free ThinkorSwim service

Eurocuck here. I'm with my bank and I'm moving to often to bother with other brokers, so I'm kinda overpaying.
I pay fixed fees, wich depend on which exchange I trade on. Tradegate is cheapest with a bit more than 15€ per trade, the other German ones are about 5€ more, foreign ones are 10 to 50€ more.
so depending on how much I'm buying, the percentages are between "holy shit!" and "kinda good".
Well, at least it stops me from buying too much small penny memes, since I would either have to put too much money into risk, or pay something like 50% in fees, so I'm kinda unsure whether I'm annoyed at this or not.

Yeah, the main thing is that you have to be able to find some sort of contentment while doing the work. I did really well in high school, was voted most likely to succeed in my senior class, then I went off to college and fucked off and flunked out. I was really bitter and embarrassed to come crawling back home and do basic manual labor alongside a bunch of uneducated Mexican immigrants for quite a while. Once I finally got my ego and superiority complex in check and was able to find some contentment in my work my life really turned around for the better. It knocked me down a few pegs and was probably one of the best character building experiences of my life. I don't do construction anymore but I'm glad I did for so many years because now I can fix pretty much anything around my house and save a ton of money over having to hire a contractor / plumber / electrician anytime something fucks up or I want to do some remodeling. It's nice knowing how things work and how to build things even if you don't make a lifelong career out of it.

I would say it's a dangerous play. When it was sub 300 that was a good chance because it swung back. You could make a lot of money doing a day trade on something like that, but you have to call it right. TSLA has been all over the place, but for some reason it tends to like the 320-360 range. In my opinion it could be a buy but understand you're not wanting to hold it until the Musk charade comes crashing down.

My dad took me out of highschool early to do construction work. So I didn't really get much of the whole highschool experience. It does feel good knowing how to do things for yourself though. I installed some ceiling fans for my girlfriends parents while they where on a trip the other week the rooms didn't have the mounts in the ceiling or wiring. I wired and hung 3 fans in a day they couldn't believe it, it's like they get wet everytime they talk to me about things i can do like "OMG ANON I LOOOOVVVEEE THE FANS" I put can lights in their living room downstairs and everytime i see them they talk about them and how good i am at that stuff. lol it's all just basic ass shit that most people never cared to learn.

I think all men should do some construction in some point in their life, some will hate it and some will love it. I have friends that still do construction at 30 and love it, they don't see how i gave it up. They get to the job, talk about what they're doing that day, turn up the music and get to it till lunch time.

Like you said, it builds character, the character that alot of young men are missing these days

that was in the past, also they know what they are doing (has been around since 1992), unlike most anons here who lose money on pharma stocks.

Now they just buy businesses with finished products but are under-funded.
Example:
Lensar
Read: https://www.streetinsider.com/Corporate+News/LENSAR+Receives+FDA+Clearances+for+Laser+Cataract+Platform+Integration+With+OCULUS+Pentacam+Tomographers+%28PDLI%29/12867597.html

Noden Pharma:
They make Tektura, high blood pressure medicine. Some people have a bad reaction when taking the currently popular blood pressure medicine. Tektura solves that but the maker, Noden Pharma is under-funded, that's where PDLI comes in.

There are a bunch more, read the fucking 10-K

I understand how the %s work in those scenarios, but lets say you saw the bull market coming up after the recession in 08-09, those 3x ETFs have been much more profitable since then than holding the 'normal' ETFs. Of course right now I'm not holding any, but if we get a bear market coming up soon for a few months I'm not fully seeing why a bear 3x ETF isn't the best play. Of course I'd probably go like 25% 3x ETF, 25% standard ETF, 50% my own stock picks. Do I have too much variance in that style of portfolio?

Honestly, who even knows anymore. It wouldn't surprise me to have KODK go bankrupt and get delisted within a year of their ICO but it also wouldn't surprise me if their memecoin took off for some reason and they became a $1bn market cap company in the next few years. I'd say it's like a 95% chance it'll flop but I've always been a crypto doubter and have watched BTC go from a few dollars per coin to over $16k dollars per coin all the while saying to myself, "surely this thing will be worthless at some point, why would anyone pay $X for this bullshit."
