He did nothing more than make sure Bitcoin stuck to the original vision of peer to peer electronic cash.
The real reason he's hated is because the space is absolutely packed with core shills, and he is a threat to them, CEO of blockstream has outright admitted they hire shill armies, and on top of that there's a pack of useful idiots that just suck up the propaganda and unthinkingly spew it back out.

I really don't know why he sticks his neck out given his history, I'm glad he does, but it sure is more comfortable here in the shadows where nobody is able to spend hundreds of thousands hiring shill armies to attack me 24/7 and spread bullshit around because I'm not buying their lies.
Hats off to him frankly. Yeah maybe he's a touch autistic and triggers easy, but maybe that's because he gives a fuck, and js prepared to put his neck on the line for his beliefs, while most of us who saw the long debacle of the core / blockstream sabotage event just roll our fucking eyes and silently tolerate it positioning ourselves as we see fit.

Bitcoin isn't a fucking religion, Satoshi meant for the development to be continuous over time not freeze in his absence. Satoshi was an innovator but he wasn't a developer god, a lot of his code was written by others for efficiency purposes. BTC has the better developers, bcashiers lost the debate on scaling. It's only a matter of time before lightning network makes a joke out of this shitfork and drives it below bgold prices. Only nocoiner faggots care about short term problems like higher transaction fees. Who the fuck cares besides Roger Ver that you can't buy a damn coffee with it or that it is unusable for third worlders. Even if you care about coffee purchases lightning network is the permanent solution to scaling while raising the block size is just kicking the can down the road. If anyone actually wanted to use bcash it would be congested and suffer high fees, it would need to hardfork again with a larger block size.

People want a currency that is great for saving, not spending, and that is reflected in the reality of bitcoin's continued dominance. Bitcoin has proven itself as a deflationary currency great for saving, it's battle tested by surviving a million and one FUD stories and written obituaries.

Bcashies are like Bernie Bros saying he can still win. Muh 0PER4TI0N dR4g0N $l4yer.

Segwit has been implemented and as its adoption increases (coinbase soon) fees are going down and the network is getting faster, lightning network testing is going great, and no one cares about him playing the victim.

It matters long term but not right now, everyone who gets it merely wants to hold. We're still at the stage of increasing network effect, nothing wrong with speculation / the digital gold meme being the means to that end. By the time mass awareness and acceptance is in place, things like the LN will already be there ready to power its use as a day to day spendable currency.

What I said is absolutely true. There is no demand by most people for a highly usable quick easy means of sending payment, because that need is already being serviced by the banks. Pretty fucking easy to use that piece of plastic and instantly pay for things. Yeah I understand the differences and advantages of crypto, but normies don't fucking care.

The need that wasn't being serviced before crypto was the means of saving a currency that was actually worth saving (is deflationary and not inflationary). Anyone who has been in crypto and has held bitcoin can attest to how much lower their time preference has become, how their psychology has changed. Back when the dollar was backed by gold there was much more of a savings culture, as opposed to today's culture of debt and instantly spending what one earns. We can't go back to the gold standard however because we know we can't trust a reserve system or even get our governments to implement, so we'll go with bitcoin. Since bitcoin at the moment has to live alongside fiat currencies (it may take another decade or so to supplant them), then of course its most valued property would be the profitability in merely saving it.

Bitcoin's reputation as an unstoppable juggernaut is only growing and growing. We collect more and more "bitcoin is dead because of x" stories each year. More people learn about it and buy in every year, the infrastructure and technology get better every year, the price goes higher every year. This is good, things are proceeding as planned.

Meanwhile bcash has empty blocks. No one gives a shit that it is faster and cheaper (at the moment) but autistic cashtards, who are themselves speculating on bcash because they want to see it appreciate in value like digital gold. You try and meme that it has to be usable as a currency RIGHT NOW, but no one is fucking listening. The only people listening are fools who think these arguments will sway others to buy, thus increasing the value of bcash (fulfilling precisely the digital gold need that I've argued is most important right now). If being quick to send and low fee were truly the most valuable properties for a crypto right now, why wouldn't something like Nano be valued higher than bcash? Only reason bcash is valued higher than the other cryptos which are faster and cheaper, is because it is piggybacking off of the bitcoin brand name and confusing idiots into buying it. Meanwhile all of crypto is still cucked by bitcoin's price movements.

By the way have you actually used bcash to buy things? I've paid for services and even my rent using bitcoin. I could have paid my personal trainer in bitcoin because he wanted some, but I preferred to hold it. What's that you haven't used bcash to buy things because you were hoping it would appreciate in value like digital gold? Neck yourself delusional cashie, bitcoin will outperform bcash in 2018 yet again.

Yes I've looked at the chart, on a long enough time frame bitcoin goes up. It'll hit new ATHs this year. I've done incredibly well saving in bitcoin.

Bitcoin being divisible does not make it inflationary. I'm not even sure how to explain that it seems so obvious to me. Just google it and you will find an answer if I can't explain it well enough.

1 is not .1 is not .01. Inflation is increased expansion of the number of units thus devaluing its purchasing power, not the divisibility of its base units.

If the US Treasury created billions in quarters, that would be inflating the supply. Bitcoin in comparison is fixed supply. There can only ever be 21 million bitcoins, and the divisibility of those coins has been set in place from the beginning. Even if the developers made it even more divisible be creating units smaller than a satoshi, that still woudn't be inflation.

You can't rip a ten dollar bill and in doing so create forty more dollars, and you can't do that with bitcoin either. .25 bitcoin is a quarter of a bitcoin just like a literal quater-coin is a 1/4 of a US dollar.
