the working currency is BTC only, all contracts are simply bets placed on the underlying assets, denominated in USD or BTC (or yen) and paid for and settled in BTC.
example: you could have "locked in" your BTC value at 20k by placing a short at the top. when you close it, you would get an equivalent amount of USD worth of BTC back, multiplied by leverage.
