Be patient and see where the one day candle closes. If it closes higher than yesterday, be cautiously optimistic. If it closes lower as it seems it will right now, we're still in bear country.

You should be watching for bull resistance around 7900. This is where we bounced on the 2nd. If we bounce again, the bears have probably been rejected for now. If we break below 7900, brace for winter.

If we do bounce, our next point of resistance will be around 9900. After that, we're testing resistance at around 10700, 10800 range.

I wouldn't consider us bullish til we're above 12200. I'd rather see 12800-13000 range to really say we're clear of bear territory.

For now, you can dollar cost average your way down, or just wait for 7900 and buy if it looks like a bounce, or keep waiting if we break below.

This is the first time I've ever posted on this fucking shithole board and I'm sure my effort to give you real waypoints will just be lost to "reddit spacing" and "TA memes" but it's your money. Fuck it up however you want.

Picture just so you might actually notice and not lose money unnecessarily.

I'm expecting us to go lower still. 5k or 6k would be around the conservative return to mean scenario. There's also a realistic chance that whales may be keeping the market alive by buying the bottoms and baiting new money in so that they can keep selling at a good price. We've had lower highs after every bounce god knows how many times by now.

BTC was "slowly" growing between January-November before the explosion of newfags.

And I say "slowly" because it's insane growth in real markets, but slow in the crypto context.

the newfags started way before december. when your friends start talking about btc in summer noticing its gone up, thats one thing.
but december was mainstream media fueled. when your uncle asks you about bitcoin at xmas, you know the gig is up. thats a whole other type of newfag.

problem is everyone that was a newfag in the middle of 2017 already put their duckets in. and even if they didnt go balls deep in the middle of 17, they sure did toward the end when the party was in full swing.

so now what? normies are leaving. anyone holding is probably from at earliest middle of 17, any money they have was already in. they're not going to catch a falling knife and put more in now, the only option is do nothing or pull out, thus driving the price down more.

basically the problem is there's no new money.

Why do you guys even care about short term value of cryptocurrencies if you should not be investing more than what you can afford to lose anyway? Just start saving money and buy any crypto you want whenever you can, it's that easy.
If you don't believe cryptocurrencies are going to go up a lot in the next few years then you have no reason to spend your money on them in the first place. If you only look at the short term values it's very risky if you can't control yourself.
Let's say BTC goes up to 30k in 2 months and you still didn't sell yours. What are you going to do?
If I had any money right now I'd be buying a few altcoins and just hold them for a long time. Trust me when I say they're not going die. They only die for a short amount of time because of fake news, fear of government or exchanges getting hacked.

In the cryptocurrency ecosystem are the exchanges a bottleneck right now?

I feel confident that blockchains work and are secure, it feels good to send coins and receive them, like driving a nice car.

But i cant yet trust any exchange, web is filled with horror stories about funds that are stuck on exchanges and not being able to get any support etc.

Did the explosive growth last year catch exchanges off guard and they are not yet robust enough to handle all demands? Not to mention the cashing out process into fiat which still doesnt feel...fast or secure enough, like i feel if i tried cashing out into fiat that money might just go missing and i will have no one to guarantee me that i will get that money. I tried cashing out 40 dollars and it worked, but it also took lile 2 weeks and it went through some japanese money sending company or some shit i dont know. So it doesnt feel safe to cash out.

Also exchanges might go down or they can steal your coins right.

So i wish there were more robust and trustworthy system of exchange and cashing out.
