How do you pick stocks?

I'm currently deep in TSLA, sitting at a total 263 dollar loss for 5 shares.

But, I mean, I'm looking at fundamentals, which assess the strength of the company, what it's doing in the future, and if it's even viable.

I assume there are pretty tried and true practices out there.

I should probably just go read Investopedia.

I look at sector ETFS and see what sectors are having big movements. Then I find major stocks in those sectors.

Like JCP in XRT, or GE in XLE.
