That only applied for the promotional 1 million giveaway which was basically a demo for publishers, users and advertisers. It worked since BAT currently has over 10k content creators set up to accept BAT.

BAT makes it easier to donate to publishers because they don't have to take money out of their credit cards/bank accounts. And of course not all normies will donate a portion of their BAT but once again, they can easily sell it on exchanges to advertisers that need to buy BAT to post their ads.
