Has anyone here ever gotten funded by venture capital? What about as a college student?

How hard is it to get funded? What can I expect?

I'm trying to cash in on pic related before it's gone.

I did once, white old rich guy, he ran a successful major LLC, was one of my clients, he saw my talents, he came up with this great idea, he wanted to make me rich, I would have been a millionaire by now if I had just killed my ego and just listened/learned from the old man, I thought I knew better than him, that's what ruined it. If you don't know what your talking about just stfu and observe. Just network with people, make friends with rich people.

what bubble do you want to catch

Presumably the tech bubble.

Well, then I think you'd want to be as detailed as possible in your plan. What's more likely to get funded, a guy who has an idea or a guy who has taken that idea, researched it, and discovered how that idea would work in reality?

Of course, the idea has to have monetary value attached at some point, so it can't be some stupid rehash or mashup (I combined Facebook and food trucks!) You should probably call them instead of emailing, as calling shows boldness and initiative. Also don't spill spaghetti.

Yeah, I've been refining this concept for the last two years and I finally think I have something workable. It's more of a B2B type technology, and I already have a working prototype. It ought to be pretty profitable from the get-go if I can get enough people to adopt it.

Call them man. Worst they can do is say no. (Or steal it, but that's unlikely.)

also if you're still here you might want to get a patent if you deem it necessary.

You need to show growth and user traction.

Well, it's sort of a software service thing that's an alternative to web advertising, and I'm not sure how patentable that is. Plus there's some stuff that could be interpreted as prior art.
