ChainLink allows external data of all types to connect to the blockchain. Consider the fact that the blockchain cannot be used as part of the mainstream global market without such a connection, and yet, the current market capitalization in cryptocurrency today is over $555 billion dollars. Now imagine what would happen to that number if blockchain tech was actually used by global financial markets. Now imagine the value of the oracle solver that allowed that to happen (LINK).

I encourage you all to go back and read archived threads about Ethereum in 2016. The FUD about ETH then is eerily similar to what they say about LINK now. Oh, and by the way, ETH was $5 back then. Go ahead and check the price now.

As for me, I know a good opportunity when I see one. I could be wrong, or I could be essentially holding stock in Google in the year 1998. Time will tell, but I believe in ChainLink enough that I put ALL of my crypto money on it.

We'll see who has the last laugh in 2019.

But most of bizraelis know the company is smartcontracts.com, the product is a Decentralized network of oracles and that Link is the token used to test the main net once it goes live. Link will not be used as the final token to pay the network fees.
We already know there were two forks done already. One is dubbed shadowlink because it was made in the dark. The other one I barely know something about. Some tech savvy anons called it ghostlink because it was harder to trace. Point is we don't know which one they will use for real. Only speculation at this point. The only thing we know is Chainlink will not be the one.
I'm curious how Sergey will pull that veiled exit scam. Best case scenario there will be an Air drop of the forked tokens and all will be fine and dandy. But I highly doubt it.

Future smart contracts will be able to act on aggregated data from multiple oracle services like Oraclize, there's no reason anyone would need to bother with this shittoken. There are already options for feeding data to your contracts in exchange for fees without involving a gimmick token. See: Oraclize, which basically does the same thing ChainLink set out to do in building a trustless oracle system, but without an unnecessary shittoken. It already has a working product with easy-to-use APIs for multiple blockchains. There will be more like this popping up in the future - long before Sergey finally finishes one of his projects (instead of abandoning them halfway through like he's done for everything until now).

And this isn't like building your own CPU or your own boat, mong. It's open source software: it can literally be copied and pasted for the most part. Adapting it to use a blockchain's native currencies will have numerous benefits, one being that it will allow contracts to continue to run autonomously without constantly having to recharge it with LINK fees.
