The only way crypto works is if more money(USD) keeps flowing in. The cost to power the chains is only going to work if people can sell for USD.
Once people stop "investing" it will all crumble to basically nothing.
This will happen soon.

yup.

people only hold crypto because it keeps going up, not because they use it.

one it stops going up, they will want to sell. (no reason to hold it anymore). but there isnt enough money to cash everyone out at current prices. so the bubble will pop.

This is the problem. They are buying crypto with the intent to return a profit and sell it for USD later on. Media attention has allowed this to happen for the past few months but as money wanes and newer adopters start trying to sell they will be left holding all the bags
