What was /biz/ like before crypto?

>> No.6726372

This is the crypto containment board

>> No.6726373

>>6726340
It was made to get crypto off of other boards.

Boring as fuck. Dont let any faggots fool you, it was people fighting over the best college major and how to manage expenses each month. There was one stock thread and a buttcoin thread.

If we could just get pajeets out the board would be perfected.

pretty good, it was a really slow but comfy board. alot of discussion about small businesses, interview tips, how to save efficiently as well as shit like resume threads, stock and options threads, ect. only 2 crypto threads up at a time, as well as a /cryptocurrency/ general

it would be great if it went back to that slow pace but with the current content we are all discussing (crypto), so actual discussion would take place instead of rampant shilling. the shill threads are a little bit too much for me, the board is way too quick these days

/biz/ was made to get crypto threads off /g/

>> No.6726554

It was pajeetfree

>before crypto
/biz/ didn't exist before crypto you know. It was created as a bitcoin containment board originally.

/Biz/ is rightful /pol/ clay Mohammad.

>> No.6726685

it would be great if all of the newfags took the time to learn the board culture, otherwise we'll end up like another /b/ feat. crypto. this is what kills boards really fuckin fast

before crypto, /biz/ was called /g/

/pol/ fags are refugees on /biz/.
They're fleeing from /pol/ because it has been flooded by slide threads, e-celeb threads, blacked porn and shitposts.
Please go home and fix the mess in your own country instead of trying to change ours.

>> No.6726783

This board was made to get the buttcoin threads off of /b/ and /g/ seeing as there would be 10 going at once

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

I remember it was mostly accounting majors and post grad talking about jobs.

This board was fucking slow. Same threads for days even. Crypto general lol.

>bought 8 BTC for $3000 back in late 2014
>hung out in crypto general for months
>one anon always shilling ripple
>bitcoin was very shady
>everyone feared theft and exchanges
>put 50 bucks in pandacoin PND
>reason I always laugh at the chinacoin arguments now
>sold the BTC months later as it dwindled in early 2015
>mfw getting back into crypto In August and seeing the BTC price

At least I redeemed myself and got back in. I turned 5 figgas into 6 so I'm happy.

You should check that PND if you've still got it. It's back up to 10 sats. I bought 600k for $20 in 2014. Worth >$600 now.

As the other Anon said, it was a slow and comfy board. And boring.

I' m an oldfag and the board has changed way for the better. Definitely the most exciting board on 4chan right now in terms of community + memes + content.

We beat /pol/ this year lads
