Is it true that loans principal and interest can both be paid back using SALT tokens at a value of $27.50? Tokens currently trading around $8.50 on exchanges. This means if I take a $100k loan and hold ~3600 SALT tokens for a current price of ~31k I will be able to pay off my 100k loan with them? What am I missing? Sounds like free money.

it's true anon, the arbitrage opportunity still exists but you can't immediately pay back the loan + interest with SALT, you can only use the SALT in that manner if you pay in monthly installments for the duration. so if you buy the SALT at whatever it is now you're still making a ton of money, you will just also have to pay back the loan over the agreed upon length.

Salt arbitrage is free money because Salt are the ones taking a risk here, they basically have so much faith in their product that they know markets supply will dry as tokens get used in their platform, at which point they will have major control over the price.

Pretty much like accepting payment in equity, Salt is accepting payment of their own stocks because they know these stocks will end up being valued at 27.5$.

Some facts about Salt:

Salt currently owns 55% of the tokens, that means there's around 60M Salt on the market.

We're talking about a 800M$ queue in loans in the first month, at current market value that's a potential sink of 100M Salt

Say that we have into account that some holders are not interested in neither using nor selling, speculating with future price, that means a good % of their tokens have a higher price tag than 27.5.

This means that way before they're half done with all the loan applications the markets will be absolutely dry and Salt platform will be the only token provider.
