I feel like this has been a long time in coming. I flipped 80% of my BTC into ETH a few days ago before this crash.

I'm not convinced it will necessarily happen during this crash, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't happen within the next 6 months.

Another thing I'm wary of is predicting BTC's demise. It's been foretold and predicted countless times in the past. Every time we've been proven wrong and BTC has reached new ATHs.

ETH got pretty close back in June to early July. If ETH keeps repeating that, it will probably flip BTC at one point.

By what metrics do you measure a cryptocurrency's success?

Looking at market cap we see BTC is still far above ETH, although ETH is the closest out there.

One metric that makes me believe a flippening is coming is the amount of USD value flowing through a system. Look at the chart, ETH has already overtaken BTC in this respect.

Another thing you can use to judge the health or potential of a crypto is public perception of it. It's hard to comment objectively as my head's been stuck in the crypto game for a while but I think the general normie public would like to catch "the next bitcoin" and I don't really see a better candidate than ETH.
