6558507 No.6558507 [Reply] [Original]

This is the most obvious dead cat bounce I've ever seen. If you can get out with profits - GET OUT. Seriously. This is the end of the bull trap and the 'return to normal' from the meme graph.

Let me tell you what happens now:
- People see the market recovering
- People want to get out because they saw what can happen
- People sell everything they have, thus causing the final market crash

Deny it all you want, I don't care. I'm trying to get out at the top of the bounce and then wait for it to return to where it was in November.

And yes, crypto is obviously not dead. I'm just saying it'll crash much, much further. And in 2-3 months another bullrun starts. Like it does every time. But right now there's no way this is the recovery. It's way too sudden - just like the rise at the beginning of the year.

because those charts are based on stocks. STOCKS. stocks dont do anything, and that thing is the same for all them: nothing. they are simply a speculative asset to pin the valuation of a company to an investors eyes.

crypto does that, but more. it can be useful as a token in its own economy. it can provide value as a decentralized coin that brings power away from otherwise single entity currencies. it can give people the ability to have trustless contracts capable of things never capable of before, without even having a central attack point.

if this isnt valuable to you, then you just dont understand what this means. its not our fault if youre unwilling to read what this stuff is capable of.

To this I want to say that crypto has indeed 'peaked' regarding to mainstream attention. It was all over the news, so everyone who had any kind of interest at least searched for ways to invest. For most it has probably been as you say - too hard and scary. The other <1% invested in mostly BTC. A very, very little minority invested in other coins. And now the topic has probably become boring again. So we need to wait for the next surge.

So the thing is that something else needs to happen that makes crypto easier to access for the public. Yes, it's easy for people who lurk on 4chan and reddit. But the general public is different. I'd argue that most people wouldn't even invest in stocks. And crypto are some kind of 'digital stocks'. Most people just won't invest unless it's easier than it is right now and the media tells them to. And when this happens the boom will be like nothing else before.

Supply and demand game. The fees are outrageous for BTC and they won't be getting better. It will only become avoidable by people who aren't currently getting into it. It will be too late for people. Unless it becomes the new fiat. A decentralized fiat. Backed by the blockchain and mining that will still commence. BTC mining could be implanted in grids for electricity.

How about mining electricity and storing it? Your home is powered by crypto mining.

It needs to go beyond just making money. We need to find a way to get everyone out of debt to the centralized system.

Your tiny monkey brain seems to be having trouble understanding:

It doesn't matter if bitcoin is a household name or not or whether or not normies accept it. Blockchain tech is going to/is in the process of fundamentally change transactional business whether bitcoin is 20k$ or 1$. The value of crypto as a whole is going to continue to rise regardless. BTC losing the #1 spot will definitely cause a period of disruption but it'll just be a bump in the road of inevitability. Overtime that value will end up flowing into better cryptos.

Whether the public at large sees value in trustless, private transactions and contracts (and we're still just scratching the surface) that can be executed without concern to borders, laws, trade embargoes, or financial regulations doesn't suddenly make it not the most important and valuable recent development in how currency works. It didn't matter whether normies initially understood the implications and value of automobiles, airplanes, or computers either.

You're the one talking about hope and emotion. I give a fuck about neither. This is about the inevitability of technological progress.

With Chinese wealth-offshoring cut off, the only non-speculative use of Bitcoin will soon once again be criminal activity. There’s certainly value there - remember what BTC was worth on Silk Road in 2012? - but that will be an enormous, life-wrecking correction for most Bitcoin holders.

Anyway, once more governments figure all of this out, Bitcoin will become even more regulated. China is leading the way here. Normies and Congressmen will clamor for this in the wake of the last big correction and the pain that brings to regular “investors.” US banks already have strong incentives to cooperate with the IRS on this. Good luck hiding the paper trail between whatever datknet exchange you end up on and your Wells Fargo account. This destroys Bitcoin’s value as a reserve currency, by the way.

The organized criminals won’t be affected by this crackdown, as they’re already good at old-school money laundering.

So is this shit going to recover now or what?

>> No.6577733

ignore this newfag. most of us who have been in crypto longer than a week have made thousands of dollars if not millions. of course this brainlet comes to biz salty af and probably doesn't understand what a dapp is or what its potential is

>> No.6577742

>>6577680
Give it a week and a half to be done and mid feb is should recover just fine. March is looking at good potential for 20k+
This is all based on TA. If there is anymore bad news on this then it could get stuck in a rut at the current level and could take a year to recover.

You fags really believe crypto, a new, cutting edge technology only now seeing significant adoption and innovation, is going to just disappear? Think again. Crypto is the future.

On a linear scale, going from $20 to $40 and going from $20,000 to $20,020 is represented on the graph as the same amount. But obviously the latter is much less significant. A log graph gives you a better representation of actual growth.

if the crash continues, will it stop at 0 or do i own money to coinbase? I thought this shit was risk-free, aside from the money you're willing to lose.

Yeah, diversifying sounds like a good idea which I will do soon - I was thinking I may hold a little bit so that the BTC can bounce up from the last dip, and diversify with the gains I make from that and start playing around with things like NEO and Link? Getting a bit of ETH would be wise also, at least from what I can tell.

Not that anon but from what I saw it was only momentarily at 20k, the correction was only a ~20% change.

Think about this anon, it would literally have to negative in price for you to owe money.

ETH should honestly be #1 on coinmarketcap but normies mostly know BTC only. XRP is a hell of a lot faster/stable but is cucked by not being on any exchanges that are easy to buy on(afaik the best/easiest is Kraken but they are laggy af and take a while to get verified to buy)
I've been told for a month now from a good friend of mine to look into BURST but I don't know how much I would rely on that. Make sure to do your own research on everything.

Which means that to offset risk, a lot of big players dump bitcoin the day before, exploiting all the weak hands like you, ensuring their shorts go through

Thanks for the tip fren - I suspected my focus on BTC might be a bit normie ish because it has gotten the most publicity rather than it being the best and biggest (at the moment.) And as you say - personal research will usually bring the best yields in something as volatile and new as this, but I have added your advice in my notes and will keep lurking for rumors I can verify.

yet you cant articulate one reason im wrong

no one knows what crypto is. few know of the name bitcoin. of those few, some have it. of those few that have it, they want it to rival the usd rather than the most that have it, wanting it to reach moon value so they can convert it back to a real currency. even fewer of those that have it can find a way to use it [nobody].

even worse is you fegs jump from one crypto to the next thinking thats doing something. its fucking sad really and eventually youll be back where you were a year or two ago. the fad is dwindling and all the people that pumped it up the last couple months will be jumping ship.
