what value does BTCP bring to the table compared to BCH, and how much that is worth? Well, obviously privacy. But how do you value that? Good question, now if you step back and think why ZEC, XMR and friends were created in the first place, was because bitcoin did not have privacy support. So if a BTC fork with the privacy issue fixed, while granting 1:1 ownership to the current BTC holders, why do you see holders not wanting to convert to BTCP? I honestly cannot think of a reason.

Yes of course. If they do not announce that they support it, that probably is the most safe idea.

Most people will probably dump ZCL before it forks because they are panicking, I suspect that most people won't have BTCP because of that then. If you plan to get alot of BTCP you should be ready to buy ZCL when its cheap. BTCP is going to be priced higher probably. 2018 will be the year of privacy, could easily be that BTCP is going to be big because of its name.
