You're not wrong that custom tokens will possibly slightly decrease XLM's max price at least in the short term. But on the other hand like anon said it also makes the network way more popular.

Everybody who uses the network for anything needs to have some lumens, and eventually some of the fiat and other crypto tokens in the network will most likely drip into XLM since people will see that since XLM is needed for covering the fees they can just cut the middle man and use XLM directly for everything conveniently. XLM should also retain its value better than fiat so once your money is in the network the change is both easy and appealing.
