Nope, Aeternity is a blockchain smart contract platform similar to ethereum, basically exactly like Ethereum. So you can make tokens and other things via Aeternity as well

Only difference is that they're focusing on making their platform scalable from the get-go so that they don't get this congestibility issue that Ethereum is currently having

They're also mobile first so all of the dapps made on aeternity can be run through your smartphone. You can also mine on your smartphone and it has a POS / POW hybrid mining algorithm.

They also have more than 40 developers working on this project, and they're ranked in the top 10 of the most github commits last month
