Alright guys, I'm just turning 18. I want to be something in life, make my parents proud, and most importantly provide myself and hopefully my other half a good life. I'm dreadful at math,but great in other subjects, I'm hard working, know the concept of saving money, and don't mind getting dirty. Does anybody know a good paying trade to learn? I'm trying to decide if not that becoming a nurse after 4 years and getting my clock wet in the medical field, or becoming a psychologist for kids. Worst comes to worst find an office job or become a police officer. Military is a no go because severe asthma. Pic related, me.

Psychology isn't recommended, the odds of getting a job after studying is pretty slim.
Nursing is good because nurses are always in demand everywhere, the question is whether you can handle the workload and random hours.

You're still young so find something that you're passionate about, you sound pretty caring so nursing would suit you.

Sorry, using a damn app for this. To the dude that recommend nursing, I can handle the hours and the stress, I told my self if I was going into the military I would be a PJ. Or atleast a medic. So if I go into medical, would It be good to go through an EMT course? I planned on doing that along with a class E license. Gotta be versatile in the job war.

That's for Psych undergrads. Once you've settled on a specialization and pursue a Master's or PHD, you become much more employable.

And as much as I would love to join the Legion, I heard the pay is shit, as well as every living else minus the actual training and soldiers, which is brutal. I've learned enough French from fucking my ex, I'm fine for now.

I would highly suggest electrical work. You can making like $20K a year as an apprentice which will help you learn everything and then you make like $30-$40K a year as a junior electrician. If you start up a company you can pull $10K jobs every 2 weeks (if you can find the work). Best to get into commercial properties because you get bigger jobs but they take longer. Have a crew of 2-3 guys that you can throw on the payroll.

I do carpentry work with my pops but the electricians I know make decent coin and their job is much cleaner. You can wear a polo to work and not ruin it like you most definitely do in carpentry.

I'm learning some of the basics of it right now.
