So do you guys actually believe that some crypto currency or another is gonna replace banks in the near future (i.e. in our lifetime?) or do you guys only view it as a trade commodity - a bubble that'll burst at some point?

With all the hype around crypto right now i find it hard to come to any conclusions. Which currencies do you guys think could actually manage to rise to that sort of relevance?

That's the thing though, Crypto doesn't actually do anything useful at the moment it's already worth hundreds of billions

Just imagine how much it'll be worth when it finally does have a use.

Banks actually offer some pretty useful services. I think decentralization and centralization both have their pros and cons that will cause them to always have their own niche in the economy.

Ethereum, not for use as a traditional currency, but for its utility in making tokens and utilizing smart contracts

Maybe Ripple, Maybe Stellar

BNB is about as safe and relevant as they come

I would like for crypto to have serious role in world economics, but banks and governments will just make it to much of a pain in the ass to use it

I mean it's really hard to not get starry eyed when reading about bitcoin cash or some other crypto and what vision the creators have for the future ...

But i mean ... who doesnt want their product to succeed right? ...

Look up RCN.

One of the few cryptos that has accomplished it's goal, and had an actual proposed.

It launches in April.

I think some cryptos might actually be useful. For example you really can use it as anonymous payment if you live in a opressed state. Another thing is that you could revolutionize the email business by sending mails and information secure over blockchain. In regards of ERP it will surely benefit companies like SAP or Oracle that will use blockchain as well. P2P is nothing new, torrents and p2p networks already existed but I dont knoe if they have the power to become a new internet. To realize that everyone would need a big fat wlan station to provide your neighbour as well with data. There are many useful applications for blockchain, but as currency for the people it isnt ready yet.

It's been used by the dark net for like 7 years. So it kind of does do something.

Crypto is already useful, at the very least as a decentralized online store of wealth. The black market is trillions of dollars and crypto is actually perfect for that. It's also great for non-criminals who want to send money across countries, since bank transfers take multiple days.

I meant useful in the real world, not just for buying drugs

I'd like to believe crypto is the future but that's mostly because I'm 100% all in on BTC and my success depends on it.

It's pretty useful in countries that have shit currencies ... zimbabwe and venezuela come to mind.

Also, the dollar had a horrible last year, we're potentially staring down some major inflation in the US.
