>crypto

Covid ended. Also the majority of crypto is a scam with random amounts of people shilling their neet tokens on /biz/. Is it insider trading? A group of sponsors?Who knows, because there's no laws protecting investors from getting into the crypto hopium bandwagon.

Also crypto can be traced, and ig that means accounts can be seized by your country's government. (Except xmr which gets delisted every now and then for not complying with international anti-money laundering laws.)

If you want to bet on actual scam stocks, that means you've gambled with a few penny stocks, pink sheets/otcs, SPACs, etc instead of reading a company's actual financials and why they're priced the way they are. Although I do agree that it's shit that pre-IPO investors always get a discount before being listed in the exchanges. Still, if you have money, you can buy private pre-IPO shares on secondary market sites like Hiive or Forge.

My two cents. There are more markets out there aside from the usual crypto and stock exchanges. They require some digging around and a lot of capital.

The idea behind companies like HIVE, MARA and MSTR is that people are using it as a way to expose yourself to btc without buying btc. Because of this, they tend to move 2-3 times as fast as bitcoin while echoing its movements. Even better, they are more reliable than the old adage of 'buying alts' because altcoins often have dogshit performance when bitcoin crabs, but bitcoin-related stocks can hold or even increase in value in anticipation of another leg upwards.

I hate avax so much.

Stocks that have noteworthy dividends are "value" stocks, you generally want to buy and hold these as long as they keep paying their dividend (which they will every quarter or whatever unless something serious happens to the company), you dont really care about small changes in share price.

Stocks without dividends or insignificant dividends are "growth" stocks, meaning you primarily only make money from them by selling them after an increase in share price to "realize the gains". Then you take the gains and do whatever you want: buy another stock you think will grow, pull it out of your brokerage and pay bills, whatever (assuming this isn't a brokerage retirement account).

Value isnt a tier or a hard category, its just a label made up to describe a stock with a significant dividend. Literally just google things like "best value stocks" and "value versus growth stocks". The really good value stocks are well-established companies: mcdonalds, verizon, home depot, etc., so those are more expensive than many growth stocks, but there are value stocks with smaller share prices as well. Whether or not a stock pays a dividend and what kind of yield it has is a very basic piece of information you should see on any trading platform/website.

The US isn't one big blob that can only focus on a couple things at a time. It operates using a system of combatant commands, which ensure every region of the world has forces ready whenever a crisis arises. Israel falls under Central Command, and the US involvement there is fairly small now - Prosperity Guardian, Iraq/Syria, and some air defense shit we're sending over to Israel shortly. Ukraine falls under EUCOM, which takes up even fewer resources than the CENTCOM shit since all we're really doing is moving equipment over and liaising with the UAF. All the actual US troops in both COCOMs are busy training, almost none of them are actually on the ground in a combat zone.
China and Taiwan are part of Indo-Pacific Command, which is fuckhuge. There are multiple fleets permanently stationed in the theater, multiple divisions of troops ready for use, and probably more we don't know about. All of these resources are in place to deal with shit in the Pacific, and especially since the GWOT basically finished, they're doing nothing but training to respond to China if they try to push across the strait. No one there gives a shit about what's happening in other theaters since that's not their job.
Aside from the American posture in the region, China itself simply isn't ready for a Taiwan invasion attempt, which would be an enormous undertaking. It has lots of troops, but it's likely that from the Chinese perspective, the Chinese army simply isn't ready to face the many uncertainties involved in a hypothetical Taiwan invasion. This is especially true in the aftermath Ukraine - Russia invaded a much smaller and poorer country on its doorstep, and it is now bogged down in the 3rd year of its invasion attempt with no end in sight. China, in comparison, would be trying to invade a country dozens of miles from its borders, across open water, with fucktons of US and allied forces pre-positioned to push its shit in.

No that's dumb as fuck. The US is deeply, deeply invested in keeping China inside the first island chain. It's a core part of American foreign policy in the region, going back decades. There are basically no circumstances under which they would just let China invade Taiwan without a response as doing so would irreparably damage American soft power and balance of forces in the region, greatly shift world economic currents in China's favor, and severely weaken American alliances across the world.
But you know what? Go ahead and make those $40 puts. Let me know how it works out. It's your money.

the only reason NVDA goes down right now is if MAG7 earnings tank and israel keeps pushing towards ww3. any serious escalation probably not gonna happen until post election / administration change and we are set up to have a bull rally into year's end with blackout period ending for stock buybacks which are typically the most in november/december.

the reason it dipped in august was the yen carry trade bullshit where firms and hedge funds were overleveraged on big tech and got margin called and had to sell to pay back the borrowed yen.

september we had another manufactured drop on cooked jobs report numbers that always get adjusted later on. those were your key times to buy NVDA for cheap around 100. it might go back to 120 before the end of year bull run officially kicks in. if you're not in now you are best to average in and buy on red days but pretty much missed the boat unless you want to buy ATH

You buy and sell shares to make money, that's why its called trading. You have to sell shares to get the money back. How many you sell and all that is up to you, but the idea is that you started with some money, you turned that money into shares by buying, then you wait for the price to go up. Then you sell some or all of your shares and turn the shares back into money, and you have profited because you have more money than you started out with.

Imagine a very dramatic case: the price of some company is 10$. You scrape together the change under your couch cushions and come up with 10$, which you put into your brokerage and you buy 1 share. Something happens and the share price goes to 100$. You then sell your one share and now you have 100$, you're 90 dollars richer than you started. You don't have the share anymore because you sold it, but the whole reason you bought the share was to make money in the first place, so you have made a successful trade. Now you do whatever you want with your 100$, maybe you buy more shares or shares of another company, maybe you buy pizza with it. It's your money.

I kinda feel like Im just moving money around not really making money though. but at the end of the month I have 2 stocks which is 1 more than I had at the start. So if that is the plan we use to diversify then I guess I should worry about that first if I want to follow the plan from the video before selling stuff for pizza money.

>> No.59082520

>>59082487
It's only moving money around until you cash out, thats why selling stocks is "realizing gains (or losses)". If you pay 100$ for a share and then the share price goes to 1$, you haven't realized the loss until you sell your share for 1$ because now you have no shares and only 1$. You could continue to hold onto the share and maybe the share price will go back up to 100$, or even 200$, then you can sell for that much. The money in the market is all theoretical and only becomes real when you buy/sell.

I'm doom posting actually, it did an 8x over 30 years,

1.08% or so isn't that crazy desu. The issue is that it is accompanied by falling QOL and lower productivity. Moreover it's being jump started by what should be considered cataclysmically low interest rates. Interest rates so low that "send a million dollars to your friend to get one retard to send a single dollars to your friend is almost a viable business model" levels of interest rate.

Pretty fucked when you think about it, interest rates are supposed to keep a business honest, your investment is supposed to return more than 5-6% a year.

But it no longer needs to to "make money"
