Could we possibly see FaceBook adapt to Internet Decentralization and compete with STEEMIT?

>> No.5896813

Yup. And considering Evan Chang is on the list of Advisors for LINK, and Facebook has heavily invested in its Graph API and will need middleware to work with the blockchain without starting from scratch, I think its clear which project is going to get the nod from Facebook. Think XLM with IBM.... only LINK with Facebook.

You're so goddamn stupid if you're not holding LINK already.

I'm holding some LINK.
Is LINK already being used for anything?

Mostly PoCs. You can create Chainlinks from the site but with the rewrite + mainnet launch coming Q1/Q2, most production use is likely being worked on behind the scenes and planned around mainnet launch. Expect a fuckload of nodes/chainlinks going live day 1 of mainnet though. Its going to go off like a bomb with the number of developers nipping at the bud waiting to start hacking together their own collection of Chainlinks to service from their node.

Where are you getting this news? I haven't seen developers interested, just random anons on here making memes. I looked into it out of curiosity and I love the concept.

Chainlink will be an integral part of zeppelin_os, which mean developers are definitely interested. Every Ethereum dev will end up interacting with Chainlink's tech within the next year, and it opens up a near infinite number of new possibilities for blockchain apps that aren't currently possible. I'm a developer myself, and even though I'd love my 25k stack to be worth a ton, I'm honestly more interested in hacking things together with the tech and staking my stack against nodes than anything. LINK is unironically one of the most exciting projects I've run into since Ethereum was being released. This is a whole new era of crypto we're about to enter.

PoCs with the SWIFT banking consortium; Sony + AXA (the insurance company); some others i'm forgetting

Also Sergey's EOY announcement said there's been 19,000 developers sign up for news re: nodes and developing with Chainlink. I was one of those 19,000.

Yeah I am really excited about it despite my very limited understanding of Blockchain tech.
I know just enough to understand that the implications of such a system would catalyze powerful fast technological advancement.

Must burn him alive that the twins took his money and invested in early crypto.

It really does. Even just by having a bunch of data feeds available to your smart contracts, it opens up entirely new possibilities that likely haven't even been considered yet. The feeds existing will inspire developers to think of applications of that data, and from that some of the next biggest tech giants will be born.

I'm trying to keep up to date with this stuff. I work full-time but I spend nearly every free moment online doing something related to blockchain tech... It's exciting but also discouraging because it's so fast. And I'm young so I can't imagine the older folks...
