They don't have an office Christmas party anymore. When the C-suite realized that employees were not going to come back to the office 5 days a week after Covid WFH, they decided to cut out all the "fun" in-office stuff like that. For example they also stopped stocking the office with paper plates and plastic utensils. We don't even assign people their own cubicle than they can decorate anymore, we have "neighborhood" (read first come first serve) seating. Supposedly this is all to save on money while accommodating the hybrid WFH employees but desu I think it's done out of spite.

Serious AML/KYC only really happens with our high net worth (and by extension high risk) clients. I'm in the private bank so I do 10MM+ niggas exclusively - it's less individual transactions and more stuff like examining the operating agreements and tax returns of some wrinkly old Boca Raton boomer's LLC to make sure it's not a front for drug trafficking etc. You'll be fine with your activity I imagine, we don't have the time nor manpower to hold the magnifying glass to the little guy.

How much are you expected to actually investigate and refer? Meaning I know the banks used to look the other way if it was profitable to do so. However You're not an official recognized law enforcement operation with subpoena and arrest powers. So are you just supposed to report specific txns and not try and figure out the reasons for said txns? If that is true wouldn't an algo or hell an AI finance Model be able to ingest txns and determine if a pattern of suspected illicit behavior is occurring?

If we see something too weird we just kick the customer out of the bank and file a UAR. Also it's less about individual transactions and more about looking at big picture stuff like the partnership agreements of each layer of a business and looking through the legalese bullshit to figure out who has ownership/management powers, then making sure we properly document the ID of those people.

>>58919130
What this guy said. Regulations would never allow us to query Claude/GPT with customer data lmao. And developing an LLM in-house with equivalent performance would take 10+ years, a fuckton of new hires, and too much money.

Just do something you enjoy anon, it's less about your degree and more about your charisma + having an internship during uni with your desired company. I cannot emphasize the internship bit enough. You will not get a corporate finance job without a prior "in" after uni. I majored in math btw so degree is unimportant; if they like you enough they'll pay for your MBA later.

Either they killed her or they’re taking advantage of her death for their agenda. The things is there’s barely any wfh jobs available anymore. The reason the office is empty is because Wells Fargo has fired many employees. Office buildings are empty all over the country and they’re blaming workers who work from home? I don't think you're lying, just misinformed. I already delivered a 30 page proposal to an exec on how to automate 75% of our KYC stuff (not even with something as expensive as an LLM, just basic SQL table shit) and they're too lazy to do even that. Big banks have a lot of inertia, both positive and negative. LLM implementation would be great though - t. probably the only guy in the department who knows how to actually prompt GPT for complex answers.
