Does Chainlink even need ID when they have deco?

Chainlink, with its DECO offering, is a decentralized oracle network that provides secure, privacy-preserving external data to smart contracts. Everest ID is a decentralized identity platform that ensures secure and compliant identity management. The key difference is that Chainlink focuses on delivering reliable and private data to smart contracts, while Everest ID specializes in identity verification. They complement each other by allowing smart contracts to not only access external data securely (via Chainlink) but also verify identities in a compliant manner (via Everest ID), enhancing the overall security and functionality of blockchain applications.

Wouldn’t this imply that Chainlink does already have a proper identification method? I can see that Everest being a good pick but doesn’t deco imply that Chainlink does not need Everest all that much for its smart contracts

DECO securely bridges the Identification/KYC data on-chain and verifies that it is correct.
It does nothing to prove that the associated user is who they claim to be & has no way to prove if they 'still' are the same user if they transfer their wallet ownership down the line.
Need to solve this or its an immutable way to commit mass on-chain Identity fraud.

Everest proves that the user is who they claim,
Proves they cannot make additional wallets.
Proves they cannot transfer ownership of that verification.
Everest has a live Chainlink Node providing this data.

DECO + Everest are synergistical.

Everest is unique, verified identity.
Chainlink/DECO only facilitates the secure transfer of data. That data could potentially be identity data. If Everest (the only sybil resistant identity solution that exists) is not the provider of that identity data, then the system is fundamentally broken because it can be attacked.

he simplest way to explain it is this: DECO can securely verify that the identification credentials on-chain are accurate, but it doesn't confirm that the person requesting this data is actually who they claim to be. Without verifying the user's identity, there's a risk of identity theft or fraud, as someone could misuse the credentials without proving they are the rightful owner.
