This will sound retarded at first glance, but I promise you it is probably the best financial advice you will ever get in your life.

Play "The Guild Gold Edition". I don't mean you should just dick around and spend your free time having fun in the game and retreating from the real world.
Try to understand how all the game's systems work, how items can be best used, when is the best time to buy and sell, how the political system can be gamed to your best interest. Reach a point where starting in very hard difficulty you can accomplish a very hard life goal in just the first life.
The complete and practical understanding you obtain on how the complex system that is human society works is unparalleled to any book or seminar you can pay for. The only problem is the devs fucked up and moneylending, which is an extremely important and lucrative part of the economy in the real world, is completely useless in the game for making money, even though you get other indirect bonuses.

Should you take the time to understand why you must do what you do, you know 100% of anything that is of any real world use. The rest of most economic theory systems is just filler to distract you and make you hide confused inside an office for the rest of your life reading more and more bullshit.

Unfortunately no, but the central theme of the understanding I am referring to is how economy and politics work together, about how to create artificial scarcity and protect monopolies. How by abusing the legal system opponents can be eliminated, how you can use money to obtain political power or skew public opinion in your favour. People try to close their eyes by pretending that politics and economics are 2 distinct things, hence the idea of anarcho-capitalism but the truth lies in the fact that these are so interlinked that it is impossible to find a rich person without a political backer at some point or another. They are one and the same, and you either become a part of the balance of the system by playing by its rules or are eaten up as an anomaly that has to be removed.

The most important thing is learning about the importance of managing a dynasty correctly and seeing that some plans can only be completed once some generations pass, laying foundations so that a "grand harvest" can then occur. Really puts things into perspective.

A lot of economics is actually common sense and the free market is the perfect way that works out assuming you have sound money. All these people winning prizes for economics just seem to be highly academic retards. Krugman types who actually are fucking clueless on the basics of how economics works. They love to overcomplicate to seem intelligent.

The best explanation I’ve read of how economies really function is a picture book from Peter Schiff that even a kid could understand. I dunno why Shiff rejects btc but he does understand how economies work imo.

I have a double major in econ and applied mathematics and working towards my MS in Econ paid for by the firm I work for. I am a 3/10 in understanding econ, it is so broad and expansive and really requires, to fully master, being practically an expert in understanding the inner workings of multiple fields which takes decades. The amount of knowledge that you need to know is fucking insane, and also why so many people drop out of econ and go to business or statistics. The attrition rate at my school we started with 400 econ majors entering, 200 by the start of year three (you're pretty committed here), and 9 were in my graduating class. It's not just reading graphs of supply and demand, multivariate analysis, and derivative analysis; it's knowledge in behavioral, industrial, commerce, accounting, labor, capital markets, environmental, healthcare, geopolitics, history, law and so on. You're really a jack of all trades, big brains needed, and it's a struggle for me at times, but the most fun and rewarding career for me yet when you call something as going in a direction based on 'x' and the outcome will be 'y,' getting that right makes you feel like a demi-god.
