I need to park $16k and start parking $3-5k every month or so, simply to combat inflation.

Which "blue chip" do I choose and on what metric?
Since I haven't got much I am thinking to just buy 3, $5k each.

I do, and it's not that much. I simply gave the surplus money away to my family, and bought expensive shit I didn't really need. Cmon I make $43/hr that's not that much.
