New to this. I was going to buy Chainlink but in another thread an anon said that clients didn't have to buy Chainlink to pay for the services, they could just buy eth, and Sergey would then dilute investors by getting premint link to the nodes. What the fuck surely this isn't true! Please I know there's a lot of advocates on this board due to the high level of fud please tell me this isn't true this seems crazy why would they do this??

It's because they hate ChainlinkThomas, Apeyieldgod and a few other minor characters I can't be bothered to remember the names of. Sergey flat out refuses to flip the switch until he has personally confirmed these guys have sold their entire position (should be around 5k LINK total iirc). Before then, he will try his hardest to run the company into the ground. Sad state of affairs really. Thomas & co don't want to sell because they still believe in Chainlink, but it can't moon as long as they desperately hold on to their bags. Sergey turned them into modern day Tantaluses.

The utility of the Chainlink token is to fund 700+ blue hairs and make Sergey feel like a self made successful CEO.

Sometimes they will spend time creating users for their own solutions(see Transporter) in exchange for LINk tokens to he sold for profit
