In 2018, DTCC was a wild piece of speculation, and most of the top 50 had a better chance at institutional adoption than Chainlink. ETH, Ripple, Iota, Digicoin, OMG, ... all had seemingly much closer ties to legacy industry.
Chainlink also had zero presence within crypto itself

Now here we are and DTCC is a very concrete reality, and Chainlink is the absolute king of legacy industry connections, and has the most crypto adoption this side of ETH.

Its really as simple as, it is in the cryptocurrency asset class, and eth/btc saw their parabolic growth much faster (even though link is sitting on a 100x right now). If you invested the same amount in link, into btc or eth at their inception, you'd have made it already, whereas with link, the only people who made it are people who either traded into makeit status, or were able to drop high 5 to low 6 figures into crypto in 2017/18.

if the failed system failed you and you became a failure then you need to think about getting out of that system.

The financial world is an absolute fucking shitshow at the moment which is basically a pretty good argument for Chainlink in and of itself. It could end up that in the next year there's a nuclear war, there could be a massive financial collapse, there could be WW3 and you get drafted.
There's nothing you can do about any of it so just hold your bags and hope for the best.
