I'd say that about getting your first gold coin or bar in general.

>>58559421
Not embarrassing at all. If you can't afford gold but you want it, just save for longer until you get the money. Just make sure to do your due research and decide how much gold you should get depending on your case.

That being said, the British Sovereign is among the most popular gold coin worldwide, and you'll be able to find it easily and with a negligible premium. It's roughly 1/4 oz of gold (7,32 grams), but they are usually a better deal over modern fractional.

20 Francs and equivalent coins have 5,8 grams of gold and their premium is often acceptable; also they are fun to collect.

There are smaller bullion gold coins like Austrian 1 Ducats, with 3,44 grams of gold, but their premium is usually too high: it's just easier to save for a bigger one I think. 1/8, 1/10 and 1/25 oz coins are usually not worth it.

At the end of the day it's just a matter of checking your preferred bullion stores, sort coins for lower price per oz/gram and get what you can. If that option is not available you might need to do some math.

Sounds like you're doing fine to me. I've currently got just over 100oz silver and 1.5oz gold, along with a collection of pistols, revolvers, 2 shotguns, a .22 rifle, and an AR.

At this point, you're ahead of the curve enough that if shit goes belly-up overnight you'll actually be well ahead of 99% of other people, and while you might not be coasting by on easy mode, you have a much better chance of making it than your neighbors.

My best advice? Keep stacking toward a goal that seems reasonable to you (I don't know your situation so that's for you to determine), get a mixture of buck, bird, and slugs for that shotgun, and practice practice PRACTICE with your rifles and pistols, PARTICULARLY with whichever gun you choose to carry and/or keep at your bedside. I know this isn't /k/, but it would be wrong of me not to tell you that it doesn't matter if you've got 1k or 10k rounds of ammo if you get an early ticket to heaven the first time you need to use your gun because you didn't practice enough with it.

You are going to be told across the board "get more gold and silver, and get more ammo," and it's perfectly excellent advice, just keep in mind what you intend to use the things your stacking for, and make sure that you're actually ready to do so if the day should come.

I'm 38 and I've mainly been the opposite. I started stacking silver in the late 90s, and I'm still not at break even on a lot I bought from 2008-11. Silver has to go over 50 before I even start to get really excited, and an inflation adjusted high before I become more interested than crypto. My stacking the last few years has been mainly gold, but this year it has been platinum... but nowhere near the amount I add to crypto holdings.

You have to be careful about the price of junk. It's so-called because it's really just melt-value stuff. But many vendors charge the same kind of markup as for new Maples, Arks, Wieners, or Britannias or other bullion gov't issues coinage that have potential for numismatic growth on top of the content. Also, make sure it's 90%, and watch the prices - some vendors don't sell it 'cheap'.
General weight: one dollar face weighs about 0.715 ozt. So $10 face has about 7.15 ozt of silver. At $30/ozt spot, that would give it a melt value of about $32/ozt.
Pic related vendor sells $10 face *on sale* for $226.80 That's $31.72/ozt - a 6% markup, and a pretty good deal. That same vendor has 10-ozt bars regularly priced for $31.50/ozt right now. That's a little better for just stacking mass, but then it's a solid block - you can't divvy it up easily, if you think you might need to.

Saudi Arabia's selling oil in USD exclusivity (50years - 1974 to 2024) ends on June 9th (this sunday) and they will start settling trades in other currencies on top of USD. This will weaken the USD substantially which in turn will make it fall relative to other reserve currencies. This is extremely bullish for PMs. What are your predicitions for gold and silver prices EOM and EOY?

Gold revalued from $20.67 per ounce to $35 per ounce 3.5 years after the great depression.
So even after the collapse of credit, the banks still control the price of the money-commodity and they revalued that as well.
It's all one big rug-pull of the credit system. And if you don't understand how you are exposed to it then you are susceptible to the repeat of history that is to come.

I’ve been able to procure a lot of silver buying junk in bulk off of eBay, estate sales, and at mom and pop pawn shops. It’s the cheapest source for me and if we ever get into a barter situation or if the comex goes under then it’ll be nice to have small denominations like 1/10th, or 1/20th an ounce of silver and everyone already recognizes it and boomers understand that it’s made out of silver.

I’m going to be honest I used to get my check, pay my bills, and blow through the rest of my check on the bar or whatever other waste. I was saving nothing. I don’t make a lot, I make about $75,000 a year in AZ.

But now, I get my check, pay my bills, and I immediately buy silver and gold with the rest (besides food and gas).

If I was putting into a savings account, I know myself I just end up transferring it right back out into savings. Now in this month I was able to accumulate all that by this method.

Some might laugh and say just be disciplined and don’t be an idiot- it’s always been a struggle for me. Finding this and learning and researching has helped me a lot. I hope to add a lot more little by little every Friday when I get my check I buy a few more ounces. I don’t stress a price drop at all because I know if I didn’t buy the silver and gold that I would’ve just spent it away at the bar or some other waste!

It’s sterling so it’s 92.5% silver. So the premium is quite high if it’s just for stacking, but if you’re getting them for numismatic/collecting value that’s a fun buy right there. Apmex has them for like $50+. Depends on why you’re buying.

If it’s just for silver it’s expensive. If it’s for collectors value it’s a decent buy

Need you guys input. I stack but I also try and throw in limited edition items. Do yall think gold bars that are parts of sets that have limited mintage of less than 3k will in time be worth more than the actual value of gold. For instance I collect gold bars associated with Chinese zodiac and have a chance to complete the set up to date but will pay anywhere from 400 to 600 over spot. >The footage shows the man seeming to press on the display case. About 30 seconds later, he has the nugget, walks away and takes a glance behind him to see if anyone noticed what he just did.

>The nugget contains approximately 27 ounces of gold. Campbell said it's the biggest loss he's ever suffered at a coin show. But the gold isn't the only thing that makes this nugget valuable, it's also its history.

>The nugget, unearthed during the California Gold Rush near the Oregon border, is a rare survivor from a time when most such finds were melted down. With the nugget's unique history at risk of being lost if melted down, Campbell is hopeful that public recognition of the thief from the footage will lead to the recovery of the artifact.

I just wanted the one where Apu was holding a spatula. And I think the background looked more like a real diner and not a movie theater concession stand.
Maybe I just imagined I saw it like that

On one hand, it feels like I'm going too fast. On the other hand, I have zero plans at stopping.

I'd start looking into gold. At the rate you're going, the weight will be ponderous pretty quickly.

No. It has no historical significance, it never appeared in a classic story, nobody's great great grandma ever used it as money. There's nothing about it to establish enduring collectible value. Imagine trying to explain to someone 20 years from now why they should give you 25% over spot for some gay artwork someone made on a PC and stamped on a gold bar.

I know Asahi is American, but those should really be Eagles or Buffs or something. Similar thing here.

You know wrong - it's Japanese.
Asahi has facilities in the Americas.
