basically if an order book depth is "shallow" it means it doesn't take a lot of money to shoot the price up. For LINK to do what it did it required a multi million dollar market buy, but basically the guy could have probably gotten his LINK for 30-40c cheaper if he put in a limit order. Whereas the same size market buy on BTC, which has a much deeper order book, would have moved the price a much lower %
